Supply Teachers, or Temporary Teachers, undertake temporary contracts to teach in different schools in different locations. Supply Teachers are responsible for teaching students by following the national curriculum, testing students, and providing students with the necessary criticism, advice, feedback, and support.

Supply Teacher duties and responsibilities

Supply Teachers are responsible for carrying on a regular teachers’ duties and responsibilities when they are absent. Therefore, to create an encouraging learning environment, a Supply Teacher regularly manages the class from roll call to tidying up the classroom. What does a Supply Teacher do?

Supply Teachers are employed under temporary contracts in schools, usually when permanent teachers are absent. They teach in primary and secondary education institutions. A Supply Teacher has to adapt to different schools, situations, teaching methods, and age groups to be successful. Their day-to-day responsibilities are similar to permanent Teacher’s responsibilities. They may be expected to plan lessons and check assignments.
