We are seeking a Software Quality Engineer to test and sustain the quality of a variety of Web and Mobile Products and Applications for an intriguing range of clients, including both manual and automated tests aimed at testing new functionalities and preventing regressions. The role is comparable to a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) or development-heavy Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer role in other organizations.

This is a unique opportunity to work alongside an experienced team that excels at building, scaling, and sustaining digital products. This position reports to a Development Team Lead.

Essential skills: Deep experience with a Software Engineering approach to Software Product testing, including Cucumber, Cypress, and Scrum / Agile processes.

Key Responsibilities include:

Write test cases based on requirements and user stories to facilitate behavior-driven development (BDD)

Write and maintain step definitions and Gherkin test cases in Cucumber

Log well-documented defects and track them through their lifecycle

Execute both manual and automated test cases and investigate failures

We are looking for a curious, details-oriented Quality Engineer who is skilled in exploratory and functional testing. Responsibilities and Duties

Create documentation on Testing Strategy, Test Plan, Test Scenarios, Test Cases and bug reports assessing quality and associated risks

Work closely with the Mobile Development team for functional, regression and sanity testing of mobile applications

Work closely with the Product Team to define scope of testing, plan and define test strategy

Work closely with the Platform Development team for testing of the backend processes and web applications

Responsible for managing the Jira board from opening to completion of QE tasks and meet the deadlines for each project

Maintain and execute end-to-end test automation scripts and perform continuous testing using jenkins and saucelabs

Responsible for creating and maintaining documentation on Confluence

Communicate project status and discuss release plan with their Manager

Qualifications and Skills

6+ years of software testing experience in native mobile and web applications

1-2 years prior experience managing a team of Quality Engineers

Strong grasp of testing methodologies for all types of testing - Functional, Regression, Sanity, Smoke, White box, and Black box testing

Experience with Atlassian products like Jira, Zephyr Squad and Confluence

Experience working with Postman and API Testing

Experience with Gherkin scripting language

Experience in working closely with the Software Development and Product Team in an agile environment

Time management skills, ability to meet deadlines, and function in a fast paced and flexible environment

Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential

The Woodfibre LNG Project is located approximately 7 km west-southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. It involves the construction and operation of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility on the previous Woodfibre pulp mill site, which would have a storage capacity of 250,000 m3 and would produce approximately 2.1 million tons per year of LNG.

Woodfibre LNG (WLNG)

is seeking a Quality Engineer to champion its quality management program during the pre-construction and construction phases of the project at the WLNG site. The successful candidate reports directly to Quality Manager and will play a part in supporting the company�s project team through the construction phase of the project.

This position will require the individual to function with minimal supervision and be proactive in ensuring quality in all spheres. The position will require close interaction with the company�s Project Management, Engineering, Procurement and Construction execution teams to ensure successful execution of the Company�s Quality Management program.

Key Responsibilities:

Be the quality focal point for fabrication and construction site activities.

Manage and guide the QA/QC activities during the execution of pre-construction and construction work in a manner that achieves the project quality requirements within the Quality Standards, Cost, and Schedule targets set by the Company.

Ensure that all actions, works, and services undertaken by Contractors and subcontractors are in accordance with the respective Contractual Agreement.

Assess construction / installation work process and work product verification, (e.g. perform site QC surveillance, participate in Mechanical Completion process, and monitor specification deviations).

Prepare site related project quality system management documentation

Identify trends, assist and work with Contractor to minimize nonconformance situation.

Implement the WLNG Execution Assurance program at site in accordance with the project specifications and procedures

Monitor quality control performance, coordinate project quality metrics and reporting, and provide quality metrics as requested by Quality Manager

Monitor independently the construction work to ensure job compliance in accordance with project specifications.

Provide technical guidance to field inspection personnel as required

Review quality inspection personnel qualifications and training requirements

Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system, propose recommendations and implement improvements

Conduct Quality surveillance audits during the pre-construction and construction execution phases with timely management reporting.

Ensure that QA/QC culture is visible across all projects at all levels.

Provide inputs to the collection of Lessons Learned for the project.

Required Experience:

Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent with 10 + years� experience in a quality management position on capital construction projects in the oil/gas industry.

Demonstrated experience in establishing project quality systems that meets the requirements of ISO 9001 for Quality Management Systems.

Experience in managing large-scale capital projects including early civil works by performing regular audits and critical inspections as and when required.

Ability to facilitate workshops to lead the project team through development of project quality procedures and programs.

Has clearly demonstrated strong Quality Assurance competence.

Ability to work within a culturally diverse and multi-disciplinary environment in both national and international team environments

Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal and teambuilding skills.

Expertise in Welding, NDT systems and ISO auditing is preferred.
