Objective

Reporting to the Production Manager, Finished Goods, the Production Supervisor provides hands-on leadership to a production team to deliver daily targets covering output, quality, safety, training and efficiency.

Please note this is a 6-month contract role, afternoon shift position with a start time of 3:00pm.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

· Post-secondary education in related field

· Current license for Forklift & Reach an asset

Experience & Skills:

· Minimum 1-2 years production supervisor experience (produce industry an asset)

· Packing line experience an asset

· Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices relating to the food industry

· Strong knowledge of Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)

· Proficient in MS Office and inventory management software systems

· Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

· Excellent organizational skills

· Ability to problem solve and work independently

· Must be mechanically inclined and have hands-on experience in the operation of and troubleshooting/diagnosing mechanical failures in a production environment

· Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand on feet for majority of the working day

· Flexibility and willingness to work overtime as required, which may include weekends

Principal Responsibilities

1. Responsible for the daily operations of the production floor.

2. Assign team members to designated production lines.

3. Work with management to determine which production lines are priority.

4. Lead multiple production lines on the production floor and operate machinery as needed.

5. Oversee all team members on the production floor, and grading tables.

6. Ensure production schedule is adhered to and completed accurately.

7. Monitor product flow to ensure continuous operations without delay or lost time.

8. Continuously monitoring for product quality and overall accuracy of the operation.

9. Complete daily production reporting and tracking.

10. Continuous on-the-job training and coaching of production staff.

11. Ensure compliance to Occupational Health and Safety laws and regulations, GMPs and EarthFresh policies.

12. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Production Manager, Finished Goods.

JOB Purpose:

• Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of raw materials, production process, quality control and costs; Knowledge of hand tools and equipment as described above. Knowledge of specific and general safety policies and procedures as it relates to the plant.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) is required. Six months to one year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Oral comprehension and expression. Ability to read and write. Ability to clearly communicate with all levels of personnel.

Mathematical Skills: Basic mathematical skills, ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest and percentages, basic algebra.

Production Supervisor

Summary:

Responsible for supervising and managing veneer and plywood production; provides effective leadership and assistance in regards to accomplishing the department goals and objectives; ensures all equipment is in good working condition and applies all applicable safety precautions; performs duties in an efficient and profitable manner that promotes safety and superior employee relations.

Essential Functions:

· Responsible for personnel functions, such as: interviewing, hiring, orientation, training, development, supervision, delegations, evaluations and disciplinary actions; will perform these functions in a timely manner.

· Supervises activities of the green end/or dry end departments; directs workflow and break times; prepares work schedules and ensures training requirements are met.

· Responsible for the physical inventories

· Ensures the safety and welfare of all assigned staff; adheres to, and enforces, all established safety standards, ensuring compliance with company and government safety policies and procedures,

· Uses, and enforces the use of, all required safety precautions, including use of personal protection equipment (PPE).

Responsibilities:

Area Ownership:
· Own the GMP Area, including 5S, equipment, materials, people, and processes.

• Extraction activities, including ice water, hash, and rosin production

· Deliver our controlled processes for all production activities including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WI’s) and quality assurance measures.
· Promote and maintain the highest levels of cleanliness; ensure all sanitation criteria are met.
· Ensure inventory and quality record-keeping is completed accurately and on-time by our Leads. Verify and correct records as needed.
· Responsible for product quality inspections to guarantee all standards and specifications are met throughout the production process.
· Identify non-conformances. Initiate and resolve NCR’s as required.
· Identify and communicate continuous improvement opportunities in all areas of Production.

People Management:
· Maintain work schedules to ensure labor is allocated correctly for production requirements.
· Administer training and onboarding programs to processing, extraction, sanitation, and packaging teams.
· Ensure that Production Leads and Operators know and follow safety protocols and all SOPs, WI’s and quality measures. · Ensure their training is documented in a timely fashion.
· Take charge of our team of Production Leads to deliver the daily production schedule through our Operators.
· Guide Leads in assessing labour needs and adjusting as required.

Equipment and Materials Management:
· Understand how all production equipment works and be able to train Leads and Operators.
· Liaise with the Maintenance Department to ensure preventative maintenance schedules are adhered to and breakdowns are correctly in a timely fashion.
· Work cross-departmentally on improvement opportunities for our equipment.
· Ensure serviceability and maintenance of all manufacturing equipment and systems.
· Help track and maintain consumable inventory levels.
· Perform SCH (Security Clearance Holder duties) duties as per Health Canada and Company’s requirement.
· Take part in, and lead, Continuous Improvement projects as directed by the Production Manager.
· Send Production Reports at end of shift to summarize schedule attainment and shift performance.
· Maintain KPI tracking files accurately and on-time.
· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Welding and Fabricating Production Supervisor

Reporting to the Operational Leader, the incumbent is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of employees in the Welding, Painting & Grinding areas to ensure that all quality standards and specifications are met.
VeriForm is also looking for help to expand our welding abilities to include Aluminum CWB 47.2 certification.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Coach, train and lead all personnel to foster a safe, organized, productive, team-oriented work environment

Position Description

Reporting to the Production Manager, The Production Supervisor provides a range of hands-on production tasks and planning for the operations at UP Vertical Farms. This associate will be responsible for all the production related operations such as seeding schedule and plan, data recording and analysis, maximizing profitability and productivity in the production centre. Required to take an active role in ensuring complete customer satisfaction. Provides leadership, direction and coaching to other departments and hub associates regarding production activities. This includes providing essential functions to ensure a no-compromise approach to delivering orders when promised and configured as ordered. This associate will also have key holder responsibilities for the production equipment and ERP software.

JOB Duties

· Help create the master production plan to include seeding, grow cycles, harvesting and packaging schedule.

. Use, support, and help improve ERP systems used for production.

· Monitor operations team to ensure that tasks for production are completed on time and in accordance with safety laws.

· Organize and schedule planned and unplanned work to be performed.

. Routine monitoring and recording of different parameters for controlled environment agriculture and of the equipment needed for production.

. With the support of production staff, responsible for all work orders, closings, raw material reconciliations, inventory adjustments, and production yields.

· Conduct production staff meeting to address and discuss any production related issues and concerns.

· Responsible for recording efficiency of the production line and acting as a first point of contact for any breakdowns related to the production activity.

· Analyze variances in raw material consumption, inventory discrepancy, yield discrepancies, and provides root cause & solution.

· Develop training plans and materials, update skill matrix, coordinate with other departments on scheduling and supporting staff development.

· Provide leadership and mentorship to ensure that day-to-day production outputs are met.

· Develop and implement continuous improvement within the company through regular feedback, coaching and training.

· Collaborates with Operations and Production Manager in trouble shooting production related problems; cultivating a continuous quality improvement mentality on the production floor to resolve long term quality issues.

· Perform Other duties or projects as assigned by Operations Manager / Production Manager.

• 70% in the production floor and 30% in an office setting
