Position Description

Reporting to the Production Manager, The Production Supervisor provides a range of hands-on production tasks and planning for the operations at UP Vertical Farms. This associate will be responsible for all the production related operations such as seeding schedule and plan, data recording and analysis, maximizing profitability and productivity in the production centre. Required to take an active role in ensuring complete customer satisfaction. Provides leadership, direction and coaching to other departments and hub associates regarding production activities. This includes providing essential functions to ensure a no-compromise approach to delivering orders when promised and configured as ordered. This associate will also have key holder responsibilities for the production equipment and ERP software.

JOB Duties

� Help create the master production plan to include seeding, grow cycles, harvesting and packaging schedule.

. Use, support, and help improve ERP systems used for production.

� Monitor operations team to ensure that tasks for production are completed on time and in accordance with safety laws.

� Organize and schedule planned and unplanned work to be performed.

. Routine monitoring and recording of different parameters for controlled environment agriculture and of the equipment needed for production.

. With the support of production staff, responsible for all work orders, closings, raw material reconciliations, inventory adjustments, and production yields.

� Conduct production staff meeting to address and discuss any production related issues and concerns.

� Responsible for recording efficiency of the production line and acting as a first point of contact for any breakdowns related to the production activity.

� Analyze variances in raw material consumption, inventory discrepancy, yield discrepancies, and provides root cause & solution.

� Develop training plans and materials, update skill matrix, coordinate with other departments on scheduling and supporting staff development.

� Provide leadership and mentorship to ensure that day-to-day production outputs are met.

� Develop and implement continuous improvement within the company through regular feedback, coaching and training.

� Collaborates with Operations and Production Manager in trouble shooting production related problems; cultivating a continuous quality improvement mentality on the production floor to resolve long term quality issues.

� Perform Other duties or projects as assigned by Operations Manager / Production Manager.

Working Conditions

70% in the production floor and 30% in an office setting

8:00am � 4:30pm, 5 days (includes some weekend shifts)

Available to work any day/ any shift of the week to meet production requirements.

Education/Qualification

College, University or Technical degree, preferably in operations management or related fields.

Minimum 2 years production supervisory experience, preferably in horticulture / food industry.

Agronomy, food science, or quality management background preferred.

Previous experience in Production & Labor scheduling.

Proficient in ERP system, ability to extract data from the system to create management reports.

Knowledge of Power BI, Pivot Table or Jet Reports is an asset.

Strong data analytical skill, able to form action plan based on numerical results.

Inventory management experience / knowledge.

Good interpersonal and communication skills.

Good written and verbal English.

Detail orientated.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Strong teamwork / team building/ motivation skills.

Computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Position Summary:

The Production Supervisor, reporting to the Production Manager, will lead a team of hourly plant production employees. The holder of this position will supervise the rendering production facility in Dundas, Ontario with a focus on health and safety activities, product quality and optimize the use of resources. The successful candidate will also promote staff development. This role is rotating shifts.

Schedule: Rotating Shifts-Days, Afternoons and Nights

Position TASKS & Responsibilities:

Must be available for Rotating Shifts

Maintain and build an environment conducive to productive and positive relationships with employees

Support and train hourly production employees and serve as a mentor and coach to ensure the successful development of their own staff.

Assume a leadership role in the health and safety program and help to create the health and safety annual plan for the establishment

Ensure current and future compliance with all standards, including the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, the CFIA, HACCP

Monitor and generate reports on production related performance

Lead and complete projects as assigned by the Production Manager

Encourage process improvements in all operational functions

Support the implementation of capital and operational improvements

Organize and lead production team meetings/training as required

Maintain positive relationships with both hourly and managerial staff members

Train to operate production equipment when needed



Required Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have between 3 and 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing production environment.

Post-secondary degree/diploma in engineering, science or a related technical field an asset

Experience in a supervisory capacity promoting a teamwork approach

Experience in coaching and mentoring to assist in successful staff development

Ability to work independently and take initiative with a positive outlook

Excellent organizational and analytical skills

Proven ability to perform multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment

High level of computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of Oracle and Kronos a plus

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to cooperate and build relationships with other functional areas and other facilities within Darling Ingredients

Ability to maintain open and effective communication with employees and all levels of management

Joint health and safety and maintenance experience an asset

Self-motivated person that is able to complete assignments on time with little to no supervision

Welding and Fabricating Production Supervisor

Reporting to the Operational Leader, the incumbent is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of employees in the Welding, Painting & Grinding areas to ensure that all quality standards and specifications are met.
VeriForm is also looking for help to expand our welding abilities to include Aluminum CWB 47.2 certification.

Primary Responsibilities:

Coach, train and lead all personnel to foster a safe, organized, productive, team-oriented work environment

Assign work orders to welding personnel based on scheduled priorities, maintain the integrity of the process, and assure adherence to established SOP�s (standard operating procedures)

Work as part of a team with sales, purchasing, scheduling & shipping personnel to meet delivery schedules

Create and update welding procedures

Prepare daily production reports for the Operations Management Team

Provide welding reports to customers as required

Identify bottlenecks and analyze data to improve efficiency & workflow improvements in the welding area

Monitor all outsourced welding work

Monitor weld quality, inspect welds and dimensions of first pieces

Respond to quality concerns and implement corrective actions to eliminate repeat occurrences

Conduct weld audits on a predetermined schedule

Schedule CWB certification and weld tests

Maintain CWB welder records, test results, weld procedure sheets and all welding related documents

Perform time studies and costing analysis

Monitor that all welders are performing duties safely

Oversee the maintenance of all equipment in welding area while working with vendors

Advise on key capital expenditures

Onboarding of all new hires

Conduct performance reviews of all assigned personnel

Administer discipline based on company policies

Other duties as required

Required Qualifications and Experience:

CWB Welding Inspector Certification

5-8 years hands-on welding and fabricating experience

At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory capacity

Ability to read and comprehend engineered schematics and detailed weld drawings

Knowledge of ISO standards

WHMIS, Crane, First-Aid and Lift-Truck Drivers training

Flexible, hands-on management professional who can successfully direct, motivate and train staff

You are the leader of the Production Area during your shift and will be the area owner for our EU-GMP certified production facility. Responsibilities:

Area Ownership:
� Own the GMP Area, including 5S, equipment, materials, people, and processes.
� Process Supervision in GPP, GACP and GMP certified areas
� Oversee daily production activities, including:

Processing activities, including harvesting, drying, trimming, sorting, milling and bulk packaging

Extraction activities, including ice water, hash, and rosin production

Packaging activities, including whole flower packaging, pre-roll production, topical production, vape cartridge production, and concentrate portioning

� Deliver our controlled processes for all production activities including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WI�s) and quality assurance measures.
� Promote and maintain the highest levels of cleanliness; ensure all sanitation criteria are met.
� Ensure inventory and quality record-keeping is completed accurately and on-time by our Leads. Verify and correct records as needed.
� Responsible for product quality inspections to guarantee all standards and specifications are met throughout the production process.
� Identify non-conformances. Initiate and resolve NCR�s as required.
� Identify and communicate continuous improvement opportunities in all areas of Production.

People Management:
� Maintain work schedules to ensure labor is allocated correctly for production requirements.
� Administer training and onboarding programs to processing, extraction, sanitation, and packaging teams.
� Ensure that Production Leads and Operators know and follow safety protocols and all SOPs, WI�s and quality measures. � Ensure their training is documented in a timely fashion.

Equipment and Materials Management:
� Understand how all production equipment works and be able to train Leads and Operators.
� Liaise with the Maintenance Department to ensure preventative maintenance schedules are adhered to and breakdowns are correctly in a timely fashion.
� Work cross-departmentally on improvement opportunities for our equipment.
� Ensure serviceability and maintenance of all manufacturing equipment and systems.
� Help track and maintain consumable inventory levels.
� Perform SCH (Security Clearance Holder duties) duties as per Health Canada and Company�s requirement.
� Take part in, and lead, Continuous Improvement projects as directed by the Production Manager.
� Send Production Reports at end of shift to summarize schedule attainment and shift performance.

Objective

Reporting to the Production Manager, Finished Goods, the Production Supervisor provides hands-on leadership to a production team to deliver daily targets covering output, quality, safety, training and efficiency.

Please note this is a 6-month contract role, afternoon shift position with a start time of 3:00pm.

Qualifications

Education/Certification:

� Post-secondary education in related field

� Current license for Forklift & Reach an asset

Experience & Skills:

� Minimum 1-2 years production supervisor experience (produce industry an asset)

� Packing line experience an asset

� Strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices relating to the food industry

10. Continuous on-the-job training and coaching of production staff.

11. Ensure compliance to Occupational Health and Safety laws and regulations, GMPs and EarthFresh policies.

12. Perform all other duties as assigned by the Production Manager, Finished Goods.
