· Participating in the calibration of gages and equipment

· Cerate /maitain FAI/PPAP documentation (FAI’s, Control Plans, etc).

· Assist the purchasing department with Vendor quality control

· Participating in the non-conformance deficiency management process

· Participate in Root-cause analysis, corrective actions, follow up and reporting

· Fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

· Participate in Internal audits and all requirements of ISO 9001

· Report to the Quality Admin any quality issue

Skills and qualifications

· Ability to interpret customer prints, technical specifications, and quality assurance standards

· Strong understanding of GD&T and machine shop and weld shop inspection techniques.

Job Duties

Duties and Responsibilities

• Verify a certain percentage of all products based on industry standards to ensure they are free from contaminants, and/or quality defects.
• Reject unacceptable products, and initiate corrective action including notifying buyers and/or sales.

• Work with warehouse and production staff to ensure proper rotation of inventory, and assist in the reduction of produce waste.
• Assist in customer returns and quality credits to customers.
• Liaise with Buyers, Account Managers, and QA to identify and correct reoccurring problems.
• Oversee product quality for certain key clients and ensure client specific expectations are met and maintained.
• Ensure GMP, food safety and workplace safety practices are strictly followed at all times.
• Ensure compliance with FSSC22000, and CFIA regulations, and assist during audits/inspections.
• Read and thoroughly understand and be familiar with all product specifications, and client expectations.

• 1 year of work experience in a quality control role in food or related industry.
• Post-secondary education in Food Science/Biology (or related Science).

Position Summary:

MasTec Canada is looking to hire a Quality Control Inspector from Grande Prairie and surrounding areas.

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting finished products, products being processed, incoming materials, parts, assemblies, and the corresponding documentation for evidencing conformance to company, customer, and government requirements*.*

Anticipated start date in September, 2023 and going into 2024. Work will be in camp located in Northeastern, British Columbia as well as local to Grande Prairie. There is a potential for longer term work pending successful future project award.

Essential JOB Functions:

• Perform and document inspections and testing for piping/pipelines fabrication/construction to assure compliance with contract documents, codes, standards, regulations, clients’ specifications, and applicable Mastec Canada Quality Manuals.
• Create or revise the ‘Inspection & Test Plan(s)’ for the project and obtain client approval as applicable.
• Ensure compliance with the approved ITPs through:

o Qualification of welders

o Materials verification

o Materials mapping and traceability

o Weld mapping

o NDE logging (confirm clearance before pressure testing)

o Verifying compliance with welding parameters

o Preparation and witnessing of test packages (hydrotesting/pneumatic testing)

o Walkdowns, and

o Preparation of turnover packages, as required

• Complete ‘Weekly Quality’ Reports for the project manager and Area Quality Lead on the state of compliance of the project and status of quality assurance and control activities
• Train staff and subcontractors on quality requirements
• Review codes requirements and ensure compliance through the implementation of the Mastec Canada Quality Management system
• Inspect and document the receiving condition of materials and equipment for deficiencies
• Inspect and document the site storage conditions to confirm compliance with requirements
• Report and follow-up on non-conforming work and conditions
• Ensure work conforms to project quality plans and specifications
