Job Summary

The Quality Control Inspector will provide assistance in all quality control related functions for the Fresh Cut Department. In this role, the QC Inspector will assist, monitor, and implement QC programs. The incumbent must be highly organized and possess adequate knowledge of QC process and specifications.

Job Duties

� Assist in monitoring and updating existing HACCP, SOP, AND QC programs, procedures, and document control programs

� Maintain calibration of quality control equipment

� Monitor quality assurance program to ensure processing activities are in compliance with GMP�s, SOP�s, and HACCP

� Implement quality assurance programs that effectively monitor product manufacturing in compliance with GMP�s, SOP�s, and HACCP

� Perform analytical tests, inspections, and monitoring of incoming raw materials/packaging and finished goods for specification compliance and traceability

� Assist in sanitation verification of equipment and documentation

� Prepare samples for sending to lab and for calibration as per schedule

� Manage Microbiological testing � Environmental and ATP on equipment and product

� Maintain a �floor presence� as an auditor of quality throughout the processing and storage facility

� Ensure maintenance and sanitation of the facility is in compliance with food safety requirements

� Collaborates with colleagues in Operations and Quality functions to continually improve capability and process.

� Assist in management of Hold and Rejects of raw and finished products

� Make decisions concerning product quality, including shutting down line when processes do not conform to specifications

� Provide feedback on current SOP�s and documents for review or updates

� Coach production staff from time to time

� Monitoring manufacturing operations and ensuring they run smoothly

� Testing a set percentage of products per established standards for the company and the industry to ensure that they meet production standards

� Reporting and communicate any product or process related defects or problems for corrective actions. Assist in root cause investigations and report writing

� Updating testing protocols and standards to increase safety and efficiency

Qualifications

� Bachelor of science preferred but not required

� 2-3 years working experience in quality assurance

� Working knowledge of basic lab equipment

� Must be able to follow written procedures and complete assigned documentation

� Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally

� Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

� Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision

� Team Player � with excellent communication and organizational skills

� Working knowledge of MS Office � Word, Excel

� Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret information

Position Summary:

MasTec Canada is looking to hire a Quality Control Inspector from Grande Prairie and surrounding areas.

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting finished products, products being processed, incoming materials, parts, assemblies, and the corresponding documentation for evidencing conformance to company, customer, and government requirements*.*

Anticipated start date in September, 2023 and going into 2024. Work will be in camp located in Northeastern, British Columbia as well as local to Grande Prairie. There is a potential for longer term work pending successful future project award.

Essential JOB Functions:

Perform and document inspections and testing for piping/pipelines fabrication/construction to assure compliance with contract documents, codes, standards, regulations, clients� specifications, and applicable Mastec Canada Quality Manuals.

Create or revise the �Inspection & Test Plan(s)� for the project and obtain client approval as applicable.

Ensure compliance with the approved ITPs through:

o Qualification of welders

o Materials verification

o Materials mapping and traceability

o Weld mapping

o NDE logging (confirm clearance before pressure testing)

o Verifying compliance with welding parameters

o Preparation and witnessing of test packages (hydrotesting/pneumatic testing)

o Walkdowns, and

o Preparation of turnover packages, as required

Complete �Weekly Quality� Reports for the project manager and Area Quality Lead on the state of compliance of the project and status of quality assurance and control activities

Train staff and subcontractors on quality requirements

Review codes requirements and ensure compliance through the implementation of the Mastec Canada Quality Management system

Inspect and document the receiving condition of materials and equipment for deficiencies

Inspect and document the site storage conditions to confirm compliance with requirements

Report and follow-up on non-conforming work and conditions

Ensure work conforms to project quality plans and specifications

Education AND WORK Experience Requirements:

Certification in a trade or equivalent work experience, such as Welding, Pipefitting experience is preferred.

Overview

The Quality Control Inspector performs quality control inspection of incoming materials, in-process production and finished products ensuring measurement accuracy and compliance to standards.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret drawings.

Approve inspections on incoming materials, in-process production and finished product.

Measure and verify that dimensions of machined parts are accurate to drawings.

Initiate return of products for rework and rejection of unacceptable materials.

Communicate required adjustments to supervisor.

Document inspection results and report deviations from specifications and tolerances.

Document inspection results (reports and logs), and summarize re-work and waste.

Maintain operation of measuring equipment and arrange for repair as needed.

Position Summary

The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting perishable products at receipt and/or prior to being shipped to our customers to ensure quality and food safety standards are met. Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for checking product condition daily to ensure products staged for shipping or at receipt are within quality standards.

Inspect, test and/or measure products according to product specifications/customer expectations.

Verify a certain percentage of all products based on industry standards to ensure they are free from contaminants, and/or quality defects.

Reject unacceptable products, and initiate corrective action including notifying buyers and/or sales.

Create and maintain a detailed and accurate report of inspection results, including taking pictures and communicating inspection results to all appropriate personnel.

Perform pre-operational checks in the warehouse and cold storage units to ensure cleanliness and organization, and initiate corrective action to fix deviations.

Take storage room temperatures (ambient, refrigerated and frozen) twice a day and initiate corrective action when temperatures are outside of limits.

Ensure accurate timely processing and organization of workflow for shipping functions.

Work with warehouse and production staff to ensure proper rotation of inventory, and assist in the reduction of produce waste.

Assist in customer returns and quality credits to customers.

Liaise with Buyers, Account Managers, and QA to identify and correct reoccurring problems.

Oversee product quality for certain key clients and ensure client specific expectations are met and maintained.

Ensure GMP, food safety and workplace safety practices are strictly followed at all times.

Ensure compliance with FSSC22000, and CFIA regulations, and assist during audits/inspections.

Read and thoroughly understand and be familiar with all product specifications, and client expectations.

Other duties relevant to the position will be assigned as required.

Requirements

1 year of work experience in a quality control role in food or related industry.

Post-secondary education in Food Science/Biology (or related Science).
