    Located in beautiful Port Perry, Ontario, our high-tech production facility features a variety of cutting-edge technologies, such as high speed SMT, selective soldering, laser machining, metal forming and powder coating.

    Our current electronics products include – Network Endpoints – Gateways – Display Modules – SMPS – Class D Power Modules

    We are adding new talent to our Electronics Engineering team with the purpose of revising and adding to this product line-up.

    The successful candidate will have the following proven experience:

    · Design development – block diagram – schematics – simulation – PCB realization

    · Interfacing with microcontrollers and application processors, high-speed memory (DDR2/3), SoC’s, ADCs/DACs and peripherals (I2C, SPI, RS232, USB)

    · Ethernet concepts and integration – switches – PHYs – copper and fiber

    · Signal integrity – EMI and EMC objectives and requirements

    · Differential routing techniques and Impedance control

    · Library – schematic symbol and PCB footprint creation

    · Stack up creation and knowledge of PCB material selection

    · PCB Layout and Design – Manual routing experience

    · PCB first article inspection, power, control systems and board initialization

    Beneficial experience giving the candidate a distinct advantage will include:

    · Knowledge of AVB (Milan) and TSN protocols, bandwidth, and Network traffic

    · Strong understanding of PCB assembly processes

    · High-Speed signals in high-density designs, high speed circuit design experience (>10GS/s)

    · Experience with the NXP platform

    · Experience with Analog Devices SHARC

    · Strong hardware debugging skills, diagnostic techniques and root-cause failure analysis

    · Proficiency in Altium

    · Knowledge of HDMI, DisplayPort, MIPI and SMPTE

    Skills and Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (or equivalent experience)
  • Design for manufacture
  • Skilled with required lab test equipment
  • 5+ years of relevant experience

    What does a Design Engineer do?

    A Design Engineer will work with various application software to design, create, and document product or building models and drawings.     Design Engineer skills and qualifications

    In order to be a successful Design Engineer, candidates will have specific skills and qualifications. Some of these may include:

    • In-depth knowledge of specialized software, such as computer-aided design (CAD) software
    • Software programming expertise in languages such as Python or MATLAB

    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Great problem-solving skills for determining solutions when issues arise

    Design Engineer experience requirements

    A Design Engineer will need to have previous experience to excel in their role. Resumes that demonstrate at least three or more years of experience in mechanical design or another relevant Engineer role will be highly sought after. Experience in an industry that is similar or the same as the organization would be considered an asset for the candidate. Many Design Engineers may have internship experience.

    Design Engineer education and training requirements

    At a minimum, a Design Engineer will have a bachelor’s degree in industrial design, mechanical engineering, or a related field. Some candidates with a master’s degree in mechanical engineering may apply to the role . Candidates will have their Professional Engineering (P.Eng) licence as a certification for practicing as an Engineer in Canada. Applicants may also have taken other coursework, whether online or through an accredited institution, that may be seen as valuable to their role.
