Security Officer - PT (Bilingual)

About this Role

Security Officer is responsible for protecting the Company assets while being a welcoming ambassador to the Casino. This position will perform several varying duties throughout their shift, including controlling access to the facility and sensitive areas, escorting visitors, assisting departments, lost and found, and monitoring and recording within a daily log and assigned notebook. They may also be required to provide first aid and medical attention.

Monitoring, inspecting, documenting and reporting internal and external violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons and activities; preparing written and electronic statements;

Enforcing restricted access by unauthorized persons & Performing crowd control as directed;

Observing transactions, slot drops, chip fills and transferring items to Lost & Found;

Performing identification checks to any guest who appears under 30; provides escorts to guests and employees

Referring disputes to the Supervisor, Security; Attend to first aid incidents; assists with the self exclusion program

Conducting regular patrols of the interior and exterior of the property as assigned;

Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations

Performs other duties as assigned or directed

What you�ll need to be Successful!

Two (2) years of experience working with the public in a service role or in the service industry;

Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution capabilities; previous security experience an asset;

Must have a valid class drivers license; A current First Aid & CPR certification will be required

Inquisitive, investigative mind with the ability to identify suspicious behaviors/transactions and make sound judgements, ability to work independently and exercise discretion when under pressure

Ability to successfully obtain a Provincial Gaming License;

Previous law enforcement or military experience from anywhere will be considered an asset.

Your responsibilities will vary depending on shift or site posted and may include the following:

� Access Control.

� Camera Monitoring.

� Report taking and writing.

� Detecting theft & making lawful arrests.

� Conducting foot patrols.

� Conducting mobile (vehicle) patrols.

� Ensuring client property is secure in accordance with post orders.

� Securing premises as required by site post orders.

� Completing reports, both electronic and written.

Ideal Candidate

� Graduated from High School minimum post-Secondary preferred.

� Must be able to pass Criminal Background Check with vulnerable selection.

� Must have a valid Class 5F Drivers Licence and must have a clean driving record.

� Must have successfully complete the Manitoba Security Guard Training (MSGTP) Program course in order to be licensed as a Security Guard in Manitoba with a minimum of 1 years experience in a Security or Loss Prevention role.

� FA1 - Emergency First Aid & CPR /AED although (FA2) is preferred.

� Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.

� Basic computer skills are required; (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Mobile IOS/Android Apps).

� Ability to walk large areas, sit or stand for extended periods of time, indoors and out as needed.

� Strong attention to detail.

� Able to follow direction.

� Leadership skills would be an asset.

� Required to work with a high level of independence and proficiency in conflict resolution.

� The successful candidate should be willing/able to pick up occasional overtime to cover vacation or illness absences.

Two (2) years of experience working with the public in a service role or in the service industry;

Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution capabilities;

High school diploma or equivalent required, post-secondary education an asset;

Responsibilities:

Supervising and maintaining a secure and safe environment for residential clients recovering from addiction and mental health issues

Provide support to the overnight medical staff when needed, including during client intakes
