What does a Phlebotomist do?
A Phlebotomist generally works in a hospital, blood donor centre, Doctors’ office, or medical laboratory. They are responsible for preparing their patients so they fully understand how the process works and what to expect from the experience. The Phlebotomist may also need to assist a patient should they have an adverse reaction. They are responsible for making sure all of the equipment is sterilized and clean. Lastly, they ensure each sample tube has correct labeling and is transferred to the right facility for testing.
