What does an Enterprise Architect do?
An Enterprise Architect analyzes a company’s systems and procedures to find areas that can be improved. They then create new IT functions that are better-suited to the firm’s goals. Examples of improvements include introducing new accounting systems, establishing new IT security procedures, and the expansion of internal training programs.
To determine which proposals are appropriate for the company, the Enterprise Architect regularly consults the Chief Executive Officer or Chief Operating Officer to discuss aims and objectives. They also research best practices in the industry to keep their knowledge up to date.

An Enterprise Architect should have excellent knowledge of IT systems and how they operate in a business setting. They should also be comfortable playing a leadership role since they will work in close cooperation with senior management and encourage other employees to embrace changes within the company. Enterprise Architect education and training requirements
A candidate for the role should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Enterprise Architecture with a specialization in business, data, or security architecture. You may also prefer applicants to have an MBA in enterprise architecture.
Candidates may also have enterprise architecture certificates from a range of education providers, including universities and professional training bodies. These certificates are aimed at professionals who currently work as Business or IT Managers, or in similar positions.
