In order to be successful as a Host, candidates will have a variety of duties to complete. Their main responsibility will be greeting customers at the door as they arrive, but other duties to note include:

What You�ll Do:
You will report to the General Manager or Assistant General Manager **(this may vary from time to time depending who is on shift). You will:

Maximize guest experience and restaurant profitability by curating and organizing reservations, and mandating guest traffic through the front door.

Provide direct reporting to management regarding organization and flow of reservations.

Co-ordinate with floor leadership, and management team to maximize server efficiency.

Call all reservations to confirm attendance numbers, and reaffirm company policies (Out times, Gratuities, seating preferences etc.)

Curate the organization of reservations to maximize restaurant efficiency and profit.

Direct large reservations to the Administrative and Events Manager.

Create a positive, welcoming environment for all guests.

Ensure company mandated advertisement is being accurately presented (Feature menus, Sandwich boards, happy hour etc.)

Ensure cleanliness of the restaurant by communicating with management, serving, and support staff.

Be responsible for complying with local health and safety codes, emphasizing on fire safety and capacity.

Be responsible for communicating to management team, and serving staff about intoxicated guests entering the building, and promoting proper actions to ensure safety of the guests.

Oak Bay Recreation Centre is seeking Lounge Hosts to join the SportsView team. Working under the direction of the Lounge

Host Team Leader the Lounge Hosts are responsible for serving, cleaning, dishwashing, and assisting with the kitchen as needed. Oak Bay Parks, Recreation and Culture offers an additional 14% in pay per hour in lieu of benefits for auxiliary employees, a staff facility pass that provides access to our weightroom, pool, skating rink, and drop-in fitness classes (granted with a regularly scheduled weekly shift). Responsibilites

Acts as a point of contact for food and beverage sales;

Maintains the cleanliness and tidiness of the public area at all times, clearing tables, removing and washing dishes, wiping tabletops and other surfaces and restocking food and beverage display areas as needed;

Assists customers in a warm and friendly manner, answering questions about menu choices;

Handles money and payments for services in an efficient and business-like manner;

Operates a POS station and all other equipment associated with food facilities;

Adheres to all safety standards and regulations for the benefit of patrons;

Maintains records pertaining to bar stock.

Qualifications

Previous bartending experience;

Previous experience in a restaurant or similar food service facility;

POS experience;

Food Safe Level 1 certification;

Serving It Right certification;

Provision of a current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (Note: This is the applicants financial responsibility to obtain this).

HOURS OF WORKSunday-Monday 7:00am-10:00pm; up to 25 hours per week as required.
