Position Overview

The Stores Supervisor is a dynamic, hybrid role responsible for leading the day-to-day material operations of North Cariboo Air’s inventory and logistics department. Serving as a "working supervisor," this position blends strategic oversight with hands-on execution. Your primary focus will be managing the purchasing and procurement of aircraft parts and materials, while actively assisting with shipping, receiving, and warehousing functions to ensure the maintenance team has everything they need to keep the fleet flying safely and efficiently.

Position Highlights

  • Departmental Leadership: Provides day-to-day oversight, guidance, and task prioritization for the stores and logistics team, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency.
  • Procurement & Purchasing: Acts as the primary buyer for aircraft parts, components, tooling, and consumables, balancing cost-efficiency with urgent operational timelines.
  • AOG Material Support: Sources, purchases, and expedites critical parts during Aircraft-on-Ground (AOG) situations, coordinate high-priority shipping to minimize downtime.
  • Shipping & Receiving Assistance: Actively participates in the hands-on receiving, unboxing, inspecting, and shelf-stocking of incoming materials, ensuring correct documentation is present.
  • Inventory Control & Auditing: Oversees inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, shelf-life monitoring, and data management within the maintenance tracking software.
  • Vendor Management: Builds and maintains strong relationships with parts suppliers, couriers, and repair vendors to ensure favorable pricing and reliable lead times.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensures all parts handling, storage (including dangerous goods), and documentation comply with Transport Canada regulations and company QA protocols.

Experience and Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in aviation stores, logistics, or supply chain, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
  • Purchasing Expertise: Proven track record in aviation procurement, including sourcing parts, negotiating vendor terms, and managing AOG logistics.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of Transport Canada regulations regarding material traceability, aviation parts documentation, and Dangerous Good
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in aviation maintenance tracking/inventory software and standard Microsoft Office suite.
  • Education: Certificate or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is considered an asset.
