There are many opportunities to grow within the company from what I have seen. That being said however, the information and the support to get you there is lacking. the best opportunities for career advancement in the company are outsourced instead of these opportunities going to hardworking people at the store level with real experience. I understand that education is important during the hiring process but not everyone who is employed by TJX canada comes from a background where attending college or university was even remotely possible because of finanicial constraints. As a company that values diversity and compassion this should be given a far greater deal of consideration when these opportunities arise. I want to speak with someone who can give me a better understanding on how I need to better develop myself professionally and build upon my exerience at the store level to have access to these opportunities, but I dont know where to turn. I am aware of the scholarship programs offered through TJX but even so attending college or university is not for everyone. Management and HR needs to recognize that you dont need a frilly bachelors degree and thousands of dollars in debt just in order to secure a job above minimum wage. To answer the question, if I left TJX canada it would be to persue a better opportunity with a greater deal of consideration for my professional development.
I would like to work here to bring out the best in me in my chosen carrier,my patient first and I believe there will be room for carrier advancement in this company.
It was actually quite decent, I only left because of personal medical issues forcing me to give notice as I wouldn't have been able to stay a reliable employee.
