Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Sushi Cook to join our vibrant culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality sushi dishes that delight our guests and uphold our restaurant’s standards of excellence. Your expertise in food preparation, knife skills, and food safety will ensure every plate is crafted with precision and care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talents in a dynamic, fast-paced environment dedicated to delivering authentic Japanese cuisine.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with skill and consistency, ensuring each item meets quality standards.
  • Handle all aspects of food preparation, including slicing fish, preparing rice, and assembling rolls with attention to detail.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering strictly to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and communicate needs for restocking to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
  • Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent food service experiences for guests, ensuring timely delivery of orders.
  • Follow all food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure freshness of ingredients.
  • Assist isenior chefs in kitchen preparation and maintaining safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in food preparation, especially within a restaurant or food industry setting; prior sushi or Japanese cuisine experience is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling techniques.
  • Skilled in cooking techniques relevant to sushi preparation, including fish slicing, rice cooking, and roll assembly.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Kitchen experience demonstrating familiarity with restaurant operations and teamwork principles.
  • Passion for the food industry and commitment to delivering high-quality meal preparation.
