Full job description

Gum Docs | Vancouver, BC

Gum Docs is growing, and we are looking for a second Treatment Consultant to join our team.

The Treatment Consultant is one of the most important patient-facing roles in our practice. You will help patients understand their treatment options, fees, insurance, timelines, and next steps. More importantly, you will help them feel supported, confident, and cared for throughout their decision-making process.

Many patients come to us feeling nervous, overwhelmed, or unsure. This role is about building trust, answering questions, removing barriers, and helping patients move forward with the care they need.

As this is a growing role within our practice, the successful candidate will also support clinically as a dental assistant as capacity builds. For this reason, dental assisting experience in Canada is required.

We are looking for someone who is humble, hungry, and people smart.

You are humble because you are a true team player. You are hungry because you take ownership, follow up, and care about results. You are people smart because you communicate with empathy, clarity, and confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Present treatment plans, timelines, fees, and financial options to patients.
  • Help patients understand the value and importance of their recommended treatment.
  • Discuss insurance and payment arrangements clearly and professionally.
  • Follow up with patients who are not ready to proceed.
  • Coordinate with doctors, clinical team members, front office, and referring offices.
  • Ensure patients are scheduled, supported, and guided through the next steps.
  • Maintain accurate tracking of treatment plans, follow-ups, and patient decisions.
  • Support clinically as a dental assistant as needed while the Treatment Consultant role continues to grow.
  • Create a warm, calm, and exceptional patient experience.

Ideal Candidate

  • Dental assisting experience in Canada is required.
  • Certified Dental Assistant experience is an asset.
  • IV sedation certification is an asset.
  • Surgical or specialty dental experience is an asset.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Emotionally intelligent and empathetic.
  • Organized, proactive, and accountable.
  • Comfortable discussing treatment fees and financial options.
  • Confident speaking with patients one-on-one.
  • Interested in growing beyond a traditional dental assisting role.
  • Positive attitude and strong ownership mindset.

About Gum Docs

Gum Docs is a growing periodontal and implant specialty practice in Vancouver. We are committed to clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and strong collaboration with referring dentists.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with dental assisting experience in Canada who wants to grow into a meaningful patient-facing role within a high-performing specialty practice.

The role still keeps the focus on patient communication, trust-building, treatment understanding, and case acceptance, which matches the core purpose of the Treatment Consultant position.

Pay: $65,253.00-$95,265.00 per year

Benefits:

  • Dental care
  • Extended health care
  • On-site parking
