Depending on your job the regular shifts are between 7 - 8 hours (excluding lunch break). Some retail shifts can be up to 10 hours (by employee choice) and some jobs are more apt to overtime (paid).

Professional and fair. Everyone is busy and it can be tricky to coordinate calendars so if it feels like things are moving too slowly - LET THEM KNOW! They'll appreciate knowing you think it's taking too long. On average, it should take about 2 weeks from beginning to end for most jobs.
