Position Overview

An established and growing Alberta-based transportation company is seeking an experienced Oilfield Dispatcher to join our operations team. This is a key role responsible for coordinating the safe, efficient, and compliant movement of oilfield fluids throughout Alberta. Previous oilfield fluid hauling experience is essential.

This is a full-time, in-office position located in the Fort Saskatchewan Area and follows a 5* days on / 5 days off* rotation. We offer a competitive salary based on experience, along with opportunities for career growth within a well-established organization.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Location: Fort Saskatchewan (In-Office Position)
  • Schedule: 5 days on / 5 days off
  • Compensation: $65,000 - $100,000 per year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule daily oilfield fluid hauling operations.
  • Dispatch drivers safely and efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Assign loads and routes while maximizing operational efficiency and minimizing downtime.
  • Utilize dispatch and transportation management software to coordinate shipments and maintain operational records.
  • Maintain professional communication with drivers, customers, and internal departments.
  • Manage incoming calls through a multi-line phone system while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Provide drivers with load information, operational updates, and problem resolution.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and maintain detailed dispatch documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with operations, logistics, shipping, and receiving personnel.
  • Monitor and support compliance with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Previous oilfield industry experience.
  • Direct experience dispatching or coordinating fluid hauling operations.
  • Previous dispatcher experience is required.
  • Ability to work a 5 days on / 5 days off rotation.
  • Strong knowledge of Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
  • Understanding of Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) requirements.
  • Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and logistics operations.
  • Valid Class 1 or Class 3 Driver's Licence is considered an asset.
