Full job description

Flocor Inc., is subsidiary of Deschenes Group Inc. and a leader in the industrial pipes, valves and fittings distribution industry. We are searching for an Inside Sales Representative for our Delta Branch. The successful candidate will maximize sales within Delta, BC and surrounding areas and will generate new and existing accounts. The individual will be primarily responsible for receiving, generating and processing sales orders, preparing general correspondence and co-ordinating service needs. This position also serves as customer contact for such matters as pricing, scheduling and delivery.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in pipe, valves, fittings and industrial sales environment and will cultivate and maintain strong relationships with our customers. Knowledge of fire protection market and/or general plumbing would be considered an asset. Computer literacy is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive sales orders from customers by phone, fax, email or via sales representative; enter all information required for order picking into the system; transcribing all non-stock material in orders to material control for purchasing purposes
  • Resolve customer issues and/or problems; liaise with outside sales, accounting/credit department, materials control and warehouse to investigate and resolve issues; recommend improvements and corrective actions
  • Prepare sales and delivery quotations; communicate quotes and product specifications; liaise with warehouse personnel to co-ordinate deliveries with customers; follow up as required/requested
  • Actively use selling techniques to increase sales through the use and promotion of complimentary and/or substitution products and specially priced items, pro-actively contacts customers as required/requested, reports on customer activity
  • Follow-up on direct shipments from supplies to customers to ensure order delivery and billing is completed and timely; prepares documentation for customer returned material to stock and/or to the supplier
  • Remain current with company products and services
  • Participate in and undertake any training as require/requested
  • Participate in physical inventory and reception duties as required
  • Participate in special sales functions and trade shows
  • Prepare and generate reports as required/requested

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in customer service/sales or warehouse environment, preferably with progressive levels of responsibility in a related industry. Background knowledge in mechanical/industrial pipe and fittings, fire protection and/or general plumbing
  • Proven business development skills
  • College Diploma in Sales/Marketing, Business Administration, Mechanical or related Industry experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal and negotiations/problem solving skills
  • High degree of accuracy with attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to grasp and communicate the technical aspects of the company’s products
  • Possess an intermediate level of computer competency with Microsoft Word, Excel Outlook and web based applications
  • Good mathematical skills
  • Self-starter, well organized with ability to multi-task and execute a plan of action
  • Must be able to self-manage and prioritize goals with minimal supervision
