Full job description

Lead a diverse supply chain function spanning procurement, contract administration, materials management, and warehouse operations. This is an opportunity to drive operational excellence, lead a high-performing team, and make a meaningful impact through process improvements and strategic initiatives.

Who – The Company:

Our client is a leading organization in the transportation and logistics sector, known for its commitment to operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement. They offer a collaborative environment, competitive compensation, and the opportunity to play a key role in supporting critical operations.

What- The Role:

Procurement & Strategic Sourcing
  • Lead complex sourcing initiatives for operational and capital requirements, including RFx processes, category strategies, and sourcing plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Support contract negotiations and commercial strategy execution in partnership with internal stakeholders, ensuring procurement activities align with organizational policies and governance.
Risk, Supplier & Contract Management
  • Identify and mitigate risks throughout the procurement lifecycle while overseeing supplier performance and contractual compliance.
  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, establish performance metrics, and address commercial or operational issues to drive value and continuous improvement.
Materials Management & Inventory
  • Oversee materials management, inventory control, warehousing, and demand planning to ensure operational requirements are met while optimizing inventory levels and working capital.
  • Drive improvements in inventory accuracy, preservation practices, cycle counts, and obsolescence management.
Capital Procurement
  • Lead or support the sourcing, negotiation, and acquisition of major capital equipment and fleet assets, with a focus on supplier evaluation and lifecycle value.
Process Improvement & Leadership
  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement, materials management, and inventory processes, systems, and controls while promoting best practices.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to the team, contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, and drive measurable cost savings, operational efficiencies, and other strategic initiatives as required.

Who- the Candidate:

  • Supply Chain Management designation supplemented with a diploma in Business, Engineering, Finance or a combination of equivalencies.
  • 10+ years in increasingly complex procurement environments in a heavy industrial setting.
  • Extensive experience in capital projects procurement and major equipment sourcing.
  • Strong understanding of materials management, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
  • Advanced contracting, commercial strategy, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong understanding of procurement governance and compliance frameworks.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, industrial environment.
  • Proven leadership capability with a strong focus on team performance and collaboration.

How much:

$165,000-$170,000 + bonus, vacation, extended health + pension.

Where:

North Vancouver, onsite position, with some flexibility.
