Who does not enjoy starting the day with a hearty breakfast? For 61 years, the IHOP family restaurant chain has served our world-famous pancakes and a wide variety of breakfast, that are loved by people of all ages — offering an affordable, everyday dining experience with warm and friendly service.

Located at the landmark of Belleville, IHOP is a busy breakfast restaurant. We are currently seeking highly enthusiastic candidates to fulfill the position of Cook/ Prep Cook to join our team. As a team member at IHOP, you would be working on a variety of stations in a high-volume kitchen environment.

Summary

We are looking for someone to work as a team player, contribute to the overall excellence of our restaurant, follow all food and safety guidelines to ensure we delight our guests with delicious food from our menu.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a sanitized, clean and well-organized kitchen.
  • Preparing workstations for cooking and maintaining kitchen equipment.
  • Prepare, season, and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required.
  • Checking the quality of the ingredients.
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications.
  • Managing food storage, stock, and ingredient orders.
  • Comply with health, sanitation, and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain inventory and record of food, supplies and equipment.
  • Perform other assignments or tasks as assigned by the Manager.
  • Store, prepare, cook, and properly plate all food, following all regulations.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and safety of all food procedures of the kitchen and reporting any discrepancies.
  • Ensuring high standard of cleanliness and setting up the workstation
  • Practices sanitary and safe food handling at all times.
  • All other duties assigned by management.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have kitchen experience & the desire to learn and grow.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor during stressful and/or busy times.
  • Multitasking, organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of industry standards on food storage and handling techniques is highly desirable.
  • Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
