Full job description

Dishwasher / Prep Cook

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Dishwasher/Prep Cook to join our restaurant team. The successful candidate will help maintain a clean, organized kitchen while assisting with basic food preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Wash dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment.
  • Operate and maintain the commercial dishwasher safely.
  • Keep the dishwashing area clean, organized, and properly stocked.
  • Complete basic food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, portioning, and storing ingredients.
  • Prepare sauces, vegetables, and other menu ingredients according to restaurant recipes.
  • Follow food-safety, sanitation, and proper food-storage procedures.
  • Sweep and mop floors and remove garbage, recycling, and food waste.
  • Clean kitchen equipment, workstations, walls, and storage areas.
  • Receive and organize food and supply deliveries when required.
  • Support cooks and other team members during busy periods.
  • Complete opening and closing duties as assigned.
  • Perform other reasonable kitchen duties as directed by management.

Qualifications

  • Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
  • Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation is an asset.
  • Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lb.
  • Food Handler Certification is considered an asset.
