Medical Billing Specialist

Location: Winnipeg, MB
Job Type: Part-Time — 20 hours/week
Schedule: Flexible
Pay: $23.79/hour

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will handle medical claims, third-party billing, payment reconciliation, and billing documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit Manitoba Health claims, including P1, P2, and remittance reports.
  • Process third-party billing, invoices, and payments.
  • Verify patient and provider information.
  • Query, resubmit, or write off returned claims.
  • Maintain billing records and update tariffs as required.
  • Reconcile billing reports and payments using Accuro and third-party billing platforms.
  • Communicate with physicians regarding billing questions and updates.
  • Investigate billing discrepancies and work with management and finance.
  • Complete paperwork for adding new physicians to billing sites.

Qualifications

  • Previous medical billing or healthcare administration experience.
  • Knowledge of Manitoba Health billing processes.
  • Accuro and third-party billing experience is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.

Compensation

$23.79, based on experience and qualifications.
