About ICPEI

Based in Charlottetown, the Insurance Company of Prince Edward Island (ICPEI) is a Canadian insurer offering home, auto and commercial insurance solutions. Our products are sold exclusively through a network of brokers in Canada.

Since its founding in 1987, ICPEI has steadily grown, building a solid reputation on its rigorous approach to risk selection. In March 2024, the company became the brokerage subsidiary of Desjardins General Insurance Group (DGIG).

Your role

Reporting to the Manager, Personal Lines, Atlantic, you will support the Personal Lines Underwriting team(s) across Canada with a variety of responsibilities.

What you bring to the position

· Minimum 1-2 years of P&C insurance industry experience, or equivalent skills.

· Keen interest in developing a career in underwriting

· Ability to work independently

· Strong oral and written communication skills

· Strong time management, problem solving and organizational skills, with the ability to turnaround request quickly, and prioritize competing tasks.

· Expertise with Microsoft Office Suite programs

· Familiarity with Guidewire an asset

· Bilingual an asset (French/English)

What you will do

· Triage central email inboxes

· Distribute work to Underwriters

· Collect information for new business, renewals and endorsements

· Process cancellations

· Assist with requests for applications

· Assist with maintaining renewal timelines

· Collect information for underwriters

· Update information in Guidewire

· Respond to general inquiries

· Broker follow-ups (managing Abeyances)

· Maintain high levels of service both internally and with brokers

· Other duties as assigned.
