Full job description

For immediate hire. Our busy team in Broadway is currently looking for an experienced, friendly, energetic and positive individual for a role of Medical Office Assistant/Ophthalmic Technician. Our team strives to provide the highest level ophthalmic care to our patients. This position requires someone that is organized, reliable, friendly and able to work in a face paced environment.

Description:

  • Scheduling and coordinating appointments for patients
  • Checking in patients - collection patient medical information
  • Registering patients on arrival
  • Checking out patients - booking future appointments and possible surgery appointments
  • Answering telephone, office email and message from doctors
  • Incoming/outgoing faxes
  • Assist with referrals, filing and other administrative duties
  • Experience in ophthalmic pre-testing, including visual acuity, IOP & pachymetry.
  • Experience performing visual field testing & OCT.
  • Preparing patients for examination rooms and manage the flow of patients
  • Keen to assist with minor office medical procedures & assist with tasks necessary for day-to-day clinic operation.
  • Excellent interpersonal & telephone skills
  • Organized, neat, professional & punctual
  • Good at multi-tasking & ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Team player but also able to work independently
  • Proficient with computers or previous experience with EMR’s (Accuro)
  • Other medical office skills beneficial
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada with required work visas in place
  • Must be competent in English (both verbal and written)
  • Other languages such as Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese and Tagalog is an asset

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
