Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to join our compassionate veterinary team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a caring environment where you will support both the medical and administrative needs of our clinic. The ideal candidate is organized, personable, and passionate about animal health and client service.. This position is essential in ensuring smooth clinic operations while providing excellent care for our animal patients and their owners.

Duties

  • Greet clients and their pets warmly, providing exceptional customer service
  • Schedule appointments, manage client records, and handle phone inquiries efficiently
  • Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, including restraint and sample collection
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms and treatment areas to ensure cleanliness and readiness
  • Collect samples for laboratory testing and perform basic laboratory procedures when needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, medications, and patient histories
  • Administer medications or treatments as directed by veterinarians under supervision
  • Support inventory management by restocking supplies and ensuring proper storage
  • Educate pet owners on post-treatment care, medication administration, and preventive health measures

Experience

  • Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting is a bonus, but we are willing to train the right candidate who is willing to learn!
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients, team members, and patients
  • Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners, with a professional demeanor
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated veterinary team, as well as independently in a self directed manner.

Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
