For over 30 years, The Safehaven Project for Community Living has been providing exceptional care to children with developmental disabilities and complex care needs.

Our mission is to provide high-quality, family-centered, and community-based residential and respite care for individuals with complex care needs.

Safehaven serves individuals with disabilities and their families, through respite and residential programs at our Toronto, Etobicoke, North York, Woodbridge, and Aurora facilities, as well as client homes.

Role Summary:

Safehaven provides recreational opportunities to our community members of all ages. We believe in importance of physical activity, creativity, and social engagement for overall well-being. As a Clinical Administrator for the summer, you will play a key role in assisting the Client Care Coordinator & Recreational Administrator with the planning and execution of various programs and administrative clinical support.

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and administrative support to the clinical team
  • Performing administrative tasks and assisting Client Care Coordinators.
  • Provide administrative support, including data entry, filing, and organizing program materials.
  • Assist with marketing efforts to promote recreational programs through social media, flyers, and other channels.
  • Assist in maintaining recreational facilities, ensuring they are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
  • Assisting in development and implementation of adaptive programming for children with complex needs.
  • Be actively involved in assisting activities during program hours.
  • Assist with any other tasks or projects related to recreational programming, as assigned by the Recreational Coordinator.
  • Perform other administrative related duties as required.
  • Answering phones, greet and assist walk-ins.
  • Working 5 days onsite.
  • Filing, scanning, and organizing clinical documentation.
  • Supporting administrative tasks such as data entry, report preparation, and correspondence.
  • Assisting with quality improvement projects and audits.
  • Helping coordinate meetings, training sessions, and staff communications.
  • Monitoring office supplies and assisting with inventory management.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution, pursuing a degree or diploma in recreation management, leisure studies, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and familiarity with social media platforms.
  • Previous experience in event planning, customer service, administrative support is an asset.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and provide medical certificate.
