Position
Hospitalist

Northumberland Hills Hospital is currently seeking a Hospitalist to grow and enhance an established Hospitalist program. The ideal candidate will join a dedicated team comprised of Physicians and Nurse Practitioners.

We are a medium-sized with close to 40,000 ED visits per year with a robust community and multidisciplinary team that is committed to providing high quality, compassionate care through our “People First” philosophy.

The Hospitalist role will encompass the following responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with local General Practitioners, Specialists, Nurse Practitioners and Allied Health professionals using a blended model for hospital-based care.
  • Participate in the call schedule for the Hospitalist Program (e.g., seven-day block / q. monthly). Contribute to ongoing quality improvement initiatives, enhancing the delivery of care within the acute and post-acute departments.
  • Most Responsible Physician (MRP) for medical patients.

Qualifications:

  • Certification with the College of Family Physicians (CCFP)
  • Registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO)
  • Family Medicine or Internal Medicine trained
  • Strong communication and interprofessional skills
