Position Summary


As an Occupational Therapy Consultant on our Specialized Learning Supports team, you will partner with schools to empower K-12 students with diverse learning needs. By implementing targeted strategies and environmental adaptations, you will ensure every student has the tools they need to achieve academic and social success.


Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Administer and interpret formal and informal assessments to evaluate functional skill levels and analyze medical or professional reports to guide specialized educational programming.
  • Provide classroom-based support for K-12 students with diverse learning needs, recommending targeted interventions, environmental modifications, and specialized equipment to promote independence and academic success.
  • Design and implement evidence-based occupational therapy strategies in collaboration with school staff, using modeling, demonstrating, and coaching to enhance student participation.
  • Deliver consultative services to families and partner with transdisciplinary teams, schools, and outside agencies to ensure cohesive support that increases student functioning at home, school and in the community.

Education/Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • active registration and in good standing with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT)
  • a minimum of three years related experience including classroom-based service with children and youth with diverse learning needs
  • excellent communication, collaboration and consulting skills
  • advanced skills in diagnosis and program intervention

Rate of Pay


$54.10 - $69.19 per hour
