We are currently seeking Casual on Call Security Operations Centre (SOC) Operator to support operations within Calgary International Airport (YYC). This respected, high‑responsibility role is essential in ensuring safety, security, and operational continuity.
If you are reliable, motivated, and take pride in making a meaningful impact, this is your opportunity to grow your career within one of Canada’s most trusted security organizations.
About the Role
In this position, SOC Operators work within a centralized control room environment, monitoring security systems, coordinating responses, and providing real‑time intelligence to airport stakeholders. This role also supports the One Stop Security (OSS) program by ensuring sterile corridor integrity and compliant passenger routing within international operations.
SOC Operators are a critical communication and coordination hub, supporting Security, Airport Operations, CPS Air Unit, CATSA, and airline partners during both routine operations and emergency incidents.

- Verify access using RAIC credentials and live CCTV
- Investigate forced doors, held‑open alarms, and unauthorized access
- Escalate concerns and coordinate appropriate responses
Communications & Dispatch

- Dispatch Security, CPS, Operations, EMS, CFD, or partners as required
- Maintain clear, accurate communications during routine and emergency events
Incident Documentation & Evidence Management
- Document incidents and dispatch actions in accordance with reporting standards
- Retrieve and manage CCTV footage while maintaining chain of custody
- Provide real‑time situational awareness during security, medical, fire, or operational incidents
One Stop Security (OSS) Support
- Monitor sterile corridors and validate passenger routing
- Ensure OSS corridor compliance for Gates 84–87 and A11–A14
- Identify, report, and escalate OSS deviations immediately
- Coordinate with CATSA, CPS Air Unit, AOC, airline partners, and Security teams
Why This Role Is Important
Your work directly supports the safety, security, and regulatory compliance of YYC. By monitoring live systems, validating access, coordinating responses, and providing situational awareness, SOC Operators help mitigate threats, manage incidents effectively, and ensure airport operations continue safely and efficiently.

- Strong observational and decision-making skills
- Ability to multitask and remain focusing in a high-pressure environment
- Experience with CCTV, access control, dispatch, or control room operations is considered an asset
Physical Requirements
- Ability to remain seated and attentive for extended periods
- Ability to process large volumes of visual and auditory information
- Capacity to respond calmly and effectively during emergency situations
- Ability to multitask across multiple systems simultaneously
Working Conditions
- Casual on Call position in a 24/7/365 operational environment
- Rotating shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Fast-paced, highly regulated airport control room setting
- Continuous interactions with multiple airport stakeholders during critical incidents
