As a Registered Dietitian at Harrison Healthcare, you play an integral role in our preventive and personalized healthcare model. Reporting to the Senior Director of Clinical Operations, you will serve as a trusted partner to clients, supporting and empowering them to improve their health, performance, and longevity through evidence-informed nutrition and lifestyle interventions. You will work as part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team where every voice matters and your expertise directly influences client outcomes and long-term wellbeing.
Responsibilities:
- Client Support & Goal Setting: Support clients in achieving optimal health, performance, and longevity through evidence-informed nutrition, lifestyle, and behaviour change strategies. Partner with clients to develop personalized goals related to disease prevention, chronic disease management, body composition, metabolic health, sleep, stress resilience, mental wellbeing, and sustainable lifestyle habits that support long-term success.
- Nutrition Assessment: Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments including a review of medical history, laboratory values and trends, nutritional analysis and diagnosis, and goal setting. Review the client’s multidisciplinary team medical chart to prepare for consultations.
- Care Planning: Tailor individualized care plans to address each client’s unique nutritional needs and personal health goals. Collaborate with clients and the healthcare team to support the development and execution of client-specific health plans.
- Counselling & Coaching: Provide nutrition counselling and coaching services in alignment with each client’s personalized health plan. Utilize motivational interviewing, behaviour change techniques, and evidence-based coaching approaches to empower clients and their families to actively engage in goal setting and action planning for improved health outcomes.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Take a multidisciplinary approach to comprehensive client care, working with Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Registered Nurses, Exercise Physiologists, Mental Health Care Navigators, the Medical Laboratory Team, and more to optimize wellness.
- Client Education: Educate and coach clients on health promotion, disease prevention, and self-care strategies. Collaborate with internal experts on client education initiatives such as webinars, articles, and other resources.
- Technology & Innovation: Leverage advanced technology, digital health tools, and data-driven insights to enhance client care, engagement, education, and care coordination. Utilize diagnostic testing, health data, and emerging technologies to support evidence-informed decision-making and personalized care.
- Innovation: Demonstrate curiosity, innovation, and a commitment to lifelong learning by staying current with emerging research, evolving scopes of practice, and new approaches to health optimization. Our dietitians are encouraged to think beyond traditional nutrition models, apply critical thinking to complex client needs, and actively contribute to the development of progressive, evidence-informed programs and services.
- Knowledge Sharing & Professional Contribution: Contribute your expertise beyond one-on-one client care through education, collaboration, innovation, and resource development. Harrison dietitians play an active role in creating client resources, nutrition programs, clinical tools, webinars, presentations, professional education sessions, and evidence-informed content that supports clients, colleagues, and healthcare professionals. Opportunities also exist to participate in teaching, mentoring, quality improvement initiatives, interdisciplinary projects, and advancing best practices across the organization.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare timely and comprehensive clinical documentation, including nutrition assessments, care plans, progress reports, and recommendations. Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team to support coordinated care, ongoing case management, and successful client outcomes.
Experience you Bring & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university dietetic program.
- Completion of a dietetic internship practicum in clinical nutrition, population public health, and nutrition management.
- Active registration with the College of Registered Dietitians of British Columbia
- At least one year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
- Genuine passion for food, nutrition, and helping clients build sustainable, healthy habits.
