Full job description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILIITES

  • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
  • Undertake basic cooking duties, as requested.
  • Light food prep such as washing and peeling vegetables and preparing take out items
  • Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Ensure all dishes, including pots and pans are clean and sanitized and place in appropriate location. Wash items by hand as required.
  • Collect and remove garbage and recycling from kitchen area, steam clean and hose out garbage bins as required
  • Wash floors and ensure spills are cleaned up immediately.


WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL

  • A positive attitude, great work ethic and willingness to learn and grow.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is desirable
  • Minimum 1 year experience an asset
  • Food Handlers Certificate an asset
  • Previous work experience in a kitchen would be an asset
  • Required to work a rotating schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • First Aid Certificate/ CPR an asset
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
  • Perform other duties that may be required to make Vettä successful.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Ability to work in varying temperatures
  • Comfortable with walking, standing, and bending over an 8-hour period
  • May be required to lift up to 30 lbs.
