ALPHA, a rapidly expanding MSP on Vancouver Island, is in search of a dedicated and dynamic IT Technician to join our office team. We're looking for someone who excels in a fast-paced setting, has a strong passion for technology, and consistently delivers exceptional customer service. The role involves providing extensive remote and onsite IT support to our clients, and efficiently solving problems and surpassing client expectations.

What you’ll do:

  • Deliver top-notch IT support with an unwavering commitment to client satisfaction.
  • Utilize advanced tools and technologies to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and network issues efficiently.
  • Document issues and resolutions accurately within PSA systems.
  • Proactively follow up on client issues, ensuring their concerns are addressed promptly.
  • Document and communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stay informed about the latest industry trends and technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance the overall client experience.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years' work experience in MSP environment
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and general computer management practices.
  • Experience with desktop support tasks such as peripheral device setup and user account management.
  • Experience with diverse operating systems, networking, and cybersecurity practices.
  • Strong critical thinking, time management, and decision-making skills
  • Firm grasp on IT infrastructure and operations best practices
  • Excellent communication skills to connect with clients and distill technical information into plain English.
  • Certifications such as (or equivalent): CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft 365 Certified: Fundamentals, Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate (MD-102).

Working knowledge in:

  • Windows 10/11
  • Windows Server, Remote Desktop Services, Active Directory & Group Policy, DNS & DHCP, File Server & NTFS permissions, Print and Document Services, Hyper-V & Virtual Machines, Powershell
  • Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and SharePoint / OneDrive, Defender for Office 365
  • Microsoft Entra ID, Conditional Access Policies
  • Threat management (EDR)
  • Backups (Cloud and Local)
  • Firewalls & Routers
  • Virtual private network (VPN)
  • Access Points and Wireless Controllers
  • Internet protocol (LAN, WAN, Subnets, VLANs)
  • Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
