Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Compounding Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role involves supporting pharmacists in preparing customized medications, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining a clean and organized pharmacy environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of chemistry and biochemistry, and excellent patient care skills. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient health outcomes while gaining valuable experience in pharmaceutical compounding.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in preparing compounded medications according to prescribed formulas and safety standards
  • Measure, mix, and package medications accurately using proper techniques and equipment
  • Maintain precise documentation of compounded prescriptions and inventory levels
  • Provide exceptional patient care by answering questions and offering guidance under pharmacist supervision
  • Ensure compliance with all safety protocols, including proper handling of hazardous materials
  • Keep the pharmacy environment clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies
  • Support medication administration processes when required, including verifying prescriptions and assisting with patient instructions
  • Stay updated on medical terminology, pharmacy procedures, and best practices in patient care

Experience

  • Prior experience in community pharmacy is preferred.
  • Recent graduate of a chemistry or biochemistry degree is required.
  • Excellent skills in maintaining a lab environment and protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow precise instructions
  • Excellent communication skills for effective patient interaction and teamwork
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining accuracy and safety standards

Pay: $20.00 per hour
