Varies significantly depending on which department you work in. UVic has many pleasant, functional depts and many toxic, dysfunctional depts. Do some serious research on a dept prior to applying there. Ask around, find out about the dept’s reputation, their employee turnover rate, and what it’s actually like to work there.
