Job Requirements:
In accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of Vancouver Island Health Authority patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA and as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Supports Home Nursing Care and Palliative Care programs by performing duties such as liaise with family/volunteers regarding delivery of equipment, maintaining inventories of medical supplies, cleaning and sterilizing medical equipment and instruments and performing related administrative support duties. Performs a variety of administrative support for the following programs:
- Home Nursing Care
- Rehabilitation Program
- DVA
- Nursing Support Services
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience
Personal computer skills for office applications at an intermediate level. Good knowledge of Business English. Grade 12, and related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Skills And Abilities
- Ability to key at 50 wpm.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and self-direct program needs.
- Demonstrated knowledge and a working familiarity with the Provincial Database System (CCIMS).
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff and public.
- Ability to work in partnership with all members of the team, in a team based environment.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
