Contract Duration: 24 months with the possibility of extension or conversion to permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Local Time)
Pay Rate: $42.85/hour as T4
Security Requirements: Controlled Goods Clearance & Reliability Clearance required (Secret Clearance required at a later stage)

Job Title: Intermediate Technical Writer / Logistic Support Analyst

Position Overview
We are currently seeking an Intermediate Technical Writer / Logistic Support Analyst (LSA) to join the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) team supporting the Royal Canadian Navy’s Arctic and Offshore Patrol Vessels (AOPV) and Joint Support Ship (JSS) programs under the AJISS contract.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with LSA specialists, Technical Data Package (TDP) teams, engineering groups, and other internal stakeholders to support in-service naval operations through technical documentation, maintenance planning, and logistics analysis activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, organize, and analyze technical and logistics data to support Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) activities, including Reliability, Maintainability, Failure Analysis, Life Cycle Costing, Sparing Analysis, and Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA).
  • Review OEM manuals, vendor documentation, and technical publications to identify maintenance and support requirements.
  • Participate in or review Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) studies, including FMECA, Reliability Block Diagrams, and Level of Repair Analysis (LORA).
  • Support data management activities within LSAR tools and Maximo maintenance management systems.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, procurement, service delivery teams, Technical Authorities, and ship staff to resolve maintenance and documentation-related issues.
  • Develop maintenance plans, preventive and corrective maintenance schedules, procedures, performance tests, spare parts lists, and provisioning technical data for new or updated ship systems.
  • Assist in the development of Equipment Family Trees, technical manuals, user guides, and training materials.
  • Maintain and revise Canadian Forces Technical Orders (CFTOs) by incorporating updates from OEM documentation, specifications, and maintenance procedures.
  • Prepare and process Document Change Requests and support the creation of Change Packages to maintain accurate technical configurations.
  • Contribute to technical proposals, project plans, and customer deliverables.
  • Ensure reports and deliverables are completed accurately, on schedule, and in compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Attend project meetings and respond promptly to internal and customer requests.
  • Maintain awareness of project scope, contract requirements, and applicable product lines.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry or military logistics support experience.
  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent military/industry experience in logistics support.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • English language proficiency required; French considered an asset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using maintenance management systems such as Maximo.
  • Familiarity with logistics and reliability analysis tools including OmegaPS, Reliasoft, Eagle ELT, SLIC2B, Relex, or Analyzer.
  • Experience supporting naval systems, military equipment, or operational defense assets.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Forces Technical Orders (CFTOs), government technical publications, and S1000D/IETM specifications.
  • Understanding of configuration management processes and technical documentation standards.

Pay: $40.00-$42.85 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Nepean, ON K2G 6P9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
