About Weir Construction

Weir Construction has operated in the construction and oilfield industries since 1951. We have over 70 years of continuous operations in Western Canada and are expanding our Logistics Division in the Grande Prairie area. This is a ground-floor opportunity to join a growing division inside a company that has the history and financial stability to back it.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Truck Dispatcher to join the dispatch team supporting our Logistics Division. This is not an entry-level position. Working under the direction of the Dispatch Manager, you will be responsible for scheduling and dispatching trucks and crews, managing real-time communications between drivers, field supervisors, and management, and keeping tracking systems current. The role is in-person, full-time, and permanent.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and dispatch trucks and field employees efficiently and in sequence
  • Direct drivers to pickups and deliveries; provide accurate, timely instructions
  • Relay information between field crews, supervisors, and management
  • Maintain the dispatch crew book and all computer tracking systems
  • Participate in employee evaluation processes alongside management
  • Support the HSE officer with monthly inspections, audits, and safety meetings

What You Bring

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the oilfield industry; dispatch or logistics background preferred
  • Solid understanding of freight operations and field logistics
  • Proficiency in Outlook and MS Office; experience with ROOK and Motive is an asset
  • Strong communication skills: clear, direct, and reliable under pressure
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-moving environment
  • Analytical mindset; comfortable interpreting operational data

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
