Job Description

We're looking for a Director of IT Operations. This is a high-impact leadership role at the intersection of technology and operations. You will partner closely with Operations to modernize service delivery, strengthen frontline enablement, and ensure IT performs as a scalable, growth-ready engine for the business.

What's The Role?

The Director of IT Operations leads the transformation of enterprise IT operations — shaping how technology supports the business today while building the foundation for what comes next.

You’ll drive the shift toward a more predictive, automated, and insight-driven IT environment, while maintaining the reliability, security, and performance the organization depends on every day. From enabling acquisitions to standardizing systems and improving employee experience, your work directly influences how effectively the business operates and grows.

What You'll Do

IT Operations Leadership

  • Lead enterprise IT operations across infrastructure, cloud, networks, and end-user computing
  • Drive system reliability, scalability, and performance through strong operational discipline
  • Advance automation and AI-enabled capabilities to enable proactive monitoring and faster resolution

Operations Partnership & Business Alignment

  • Build trusted partnerships with Operations leaders and align IT to frontline needs
  • Translate business priorities into scalable, practical technology solutions
  • Position IT as a proactive, value-driving partner supporting operational excellence and growth

Modernization & Growth Enablement

  • Modernize IT operations through automation, self-service, and standardized workflows
  • Enable business growth with scalable systems and consistent operating models
  • Lead IT integration for acquisitions, including onboarding, consolidation, and rationalization

Service Delivery & End-User Experience

  • Oversee service desk and end-user support with a focus on quality and responsiveness
  • Improve service performance and enhance the employee experience
  • Reduce friction through automation and more efficient support models

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Partner with cybersecurity teams to maintain strong security and privacy controls
  • Support audit readiness and IT general controls in a public company environment
  • Embed risk-aware practices into day-to-day IT operations

Vendor, Financial & Asset Management

  • Manage key vendor relationships to ensure performance, accountability, and value
  • Oversee procurement, asset lifecycle management, and cost optimization
  • Lead IT operations budgeting aligned to business priorities and efficiency

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a distributed IT operations team
  • Build a high-performance culture grounded in ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Align team structure, capacity, and priorities with evolving business needs

Qualifications

Who Are We Looking For?

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in IT operations, infrastructure, and service delivery within a complex, multi-site environment.
  • Proven experience managing hybrid environments and cloud platforms (Azure strongly preferred).
  • Strong track record in IT service management with ownership of KPIs, SLAs, and service performance.
  • Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, and integration initiatives.
  • Demonstrated success in vendor management, contract negotiation, and cost optimization.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity controls, compliance, and audit readiness in a corporate or public company environment.
  • Proven ability to build strong cross-functional partnerships and lead distributed teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree considered an asset.
  • ITIL certification preferred; PMP, PRINCE2, or cloud/security certifications are assets.
