What advice would you give the CEO of F12.net about how to improve the company?
Pare down the number of managers and middle managers and tertiary managers and improve process dissemination so that everyone knows how to do their jobs correctly. When processes change everyone must have a way of knowing it. Take steps to eliminate human error, if an error can be made, it will be made, have steps to prevent errors and resolve them quickly when they occur. Ensure technicians are properly trained for their roles, MS certs are meaningless without experience!
What kind of management support and initial training is there for a new employee...say an administrative assistant - regional coordinator at the Markham Ontario office?
Training is at the discretion of the current person occupying the position, there is no formal training. Questions will be answered with "I don't know", "Maybe" or "Check with X, I think they know".
