Come work as a Psychiatrist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a full-time psychiatrist to join Richmond Mental Health and Substance Use Services.
This position combines 0.6 FTE with the Richmond Adult Mental Health Team (MHT) and 0.4 FTE with the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team, offering a rewarding blend of longitudinal community psychiatry and outreach-based care.
Why Richmond?
Richmond is known for its collegial, welcoming, and highly collaborative Department of Psychiatry. Physicians are supported by experienced interdisciplinary teams, strong community programs, and close partnerships across outpatient, inpatient, and emergency psychiatry services. New psychiatrists join a department that values teamwork, mentorship, clinical excellence, and work-life balance.
Richmond serves one of Canada’s most diverse and multicultural communities and offers an exceptional quality of life, with easy access to Vancouver, Vancouver International Airport, world-class restaurants, outdoor recreation, and the natural beauty of the West Coast.
The Role

The Richmond Adult Mental Health Team provides ongoing assessment and treatment for adults living with serious and persistent mental illness who require interdisciplinary community-based care. Referrals are received primarily from family physicians, inpatient psychiatry, and the Emergency Department.
Assertive Community Treatment Team (0.4 FTE)
The ACT team provides intensive community-based treatment and rehabilitation for adults with severe mental illness and complex needs, including concurrent substance use disorders, housing instability, and significant functional impairment. The psychiatrist works closely with an experienced multidisciplinary team and provides care in both clinic and community settings.
