About Us:
You help shape the experiences our community has every time they step into the water, building confidence, safety, and connection.
At the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC), our vision Together we create community isn’t something we hang on a wall. It’s something you feel the moment you step into our facilities: the energy on the pool deck, the teamwork behind the scenes, and the pride we take in keeping people safe while helping them thrive.
We are looking for a regular part-time Lifeguard Instructor who brings skill, confidence, and a genuine passion for people. Someone who can balance focus with energy, lead with calm under pressure, and bring a sense of fun and connection into serious, lifesaving learning environments. Because at the RRC, we know the best instructors don’t just teach, they inspire, motivate, and make learning stick.
In this role, you will help shape the next generation of aquatic professionals, building not just certified lifeguards but confident, capable leaders who are ready for anything. You will be the kind of instructor who can turn a challenging skill into a breakthrough moment, and a nervous first attempt into a proud success story.
Our values: Safety, Collaboration, Innovation, Sustainability, and Diversity are at the heart of everything we do, but they come to life through people like you. We are also deeply committed to Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging, and to creating an environment where everyone feels welcome, supported, and able to show up as their best self.
Day to day, you will lead certification courses, deliver in-water instruction, and mentor candidates as they build confidence, skill, and judgment. No two days are the same, and that’s part of the fun. You will be part educator, part motivator, and part role model, helping create moments that stick with learners long after they leave the pool deck.
If you are ready to teach with purpose, lead with integrity, and build a stronger, safer community, we want to hear from you.
