About Gentle Earth Products Ltd.

At Gentle Earth Products Ltd., we have been crafting clean and natural home cleaning and body care products since 2006. Operating under our Gentle Earth (eco-home care & plant-based Castile soaps) and Island Essentials (natural skin, hair, and personal care) brands, we take pride in using sustainable ingredients, eco-friendly packaging (such as 100% PCR bottles and wheat straw containers), and essential oils to create effective, toxin-free products for households across Canada.

Role Overview

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented person for a role in Production to join our Vancouver Island manufacturing team. In this role, you will oversee and execute the day-to-day preparation, compounding, filling, labeling, and packaging of our home and personal care products.

The ideal candidate thrives in a hands-on production environment, upholds strict quality control and safety standards, and is passionate about sustainable manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities & Duties1. Batch Preparation & Production (Privation)

● Accurately measure, weigh, and blend raw ingredients (plant-based cleansers, essential oils, carrier oils, and botanical extracts) according to master batch formulas.

● Prepare bulk liquid Castile soaps, cleaners, lotions, creams, deodorants, and hair care lines.

● Operate and maintain compounding equipment, tanks, mixers, and filling stations safely and efficiently.

2. Packaging, Bottling & Assembly

● Fill, cap, seal, and label product containers across multiple packaging types (PCR bottles, refillery jugs, refillable deodorant tubes, glass dropper bottles).

● Assist in hand-cutting, packaging, and finishing artisanal bar soaps.

● Assemble customer orders, wholesale shipments (grocery chains, local refilleries, hotels/B&Bs), and e-commerce orders.

3. Quality Control & Inventory Management

● Perform visual, scent, and pH quality checks on finished batches to ensure brand consistency across Gentle Earth and Island Essentials lines.

● Keep accurate records of batch logs, raw material lot numbers, and inventory usage.

● Monitor stock levels of raw ingredients, essential oils, and eco-packaging materials; alert management when reordering is required.

4. Facility Sanitation & Safety

● Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary production floor in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and WHMIS standards.

● Wash, sanitize, and prepare mixing vessels, pumps, lines, and filling machinery between production runs.

Qualifications & Skills

Experience: 1–2+ years of experience in manufacturing, compounding, soap making, food processing, or cosmetics production preferred, but not necessary.

Attention to Detail: Precision in weighing ingredients, following formulas, and verifying product labels.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive motions (capping/labeling), and lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) safely.

Technical Aptitude: Comfort operating basic industrial pumps, batch mixers, and labeling machines.

Values: Passion for eco-friendly practices, natural products, and sustainable manufacturing.

What We Offer

● Competitive wage based on experience.

● Employee discounts on all Gentle Earth and Island Essentials products.

● Consistent daytime schedule with holidays off.

● A supportive, team-oriented culture rooted in sustainability and local BC craftsmanship.

Pay: $21.00-$23.50 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week

Benefits:

  • Flexible schedule
  • On-site parking
