Full job description

Multi-doctor medical clinic looking for a full time medical office assistants to join our office. Applicant must have graduated from an MOA program. Experience working as an MOA and with Myle EMR is an asset. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, ability to work independently and able to multitask in a busy setting.

Our office has multiple family physicians and specialist working at the same time. You will be working with a group of medical office assistants as a team. You must be dependable and responsible.

Applicant must be available to work Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

Education Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Graduation from a Medical Office Assistant Program

Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Knowledge of Myle EMR or excellent computer skills is an asset
  • Physical ability to perform duties of the position
  • Demonstrated knowledge of clinical policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge of office procedures
  • Demonstrated customer service and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a busy environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize workload and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated skills in using a variety of office equipment and computer software programs

Administrative Duties will Include:

  • Greeting patients
  • Answering phones, office emails, and messages
  • Booking and confirming appointments
  • Medical Billing (Private, MSP, ICBC, WCB)
  • Processing incoming/outgoing mail, faxes and correspondences
  • Office Inventory
  • EMR Duties and Tasks

Clinical Duties Will Include:

  • Accurately performing Urinalysis/Pregnancy Tests/Visual Field Tests
  • Accurately obtaining patient measurements
  • Prepping exam rooms accordingly (paps, cpx, immunizations, sutures, etc.)
  • Preparing labels, forms for exams and testing
  • Sterilizing instruments using an autoclave
  • Restocking exam rooms and medical supply rooms
