Full job description

Our pharmacy in Gabriola Island is looking to hire a pharmacy assistant to join our team! Computer efficiency and positive attitude are imperative for this position. Experience required for this opportunity.

This will be a part time role, with full time availability required from time to time to cover vacation and sick calls.

Shifts may vary and Saturday availability is required.

Responsibilities:

  • intake and dispensing of prescriptions
  • using computer systems to generate stock lists and labels
  • ordering medications and medical/pharmacy supplies
  • maintaining and counting inventory
  • receiving, loading, and unloading deliveries
  • selling over-the-counter medicines and front store items
  • answering customers questions face to face or by phone
  • preparing, packaging, assembling and labelling medication
  • handling and processing till transactions
  • general cleaning and housekeeping
  • referring problems or queries to the pharmacist or pharmacy manager
  • additional duties when necessary
  • at least 2 years data entry experience

Wage will be based on experience level.
