Was sick and gave 3 hours instead of 4 hours notice. Was told I would be "written up", whatever that means. Manager was unsympathetic to my illness that morning, so I just quit on the job. I should have reported her because I was one of the best cashiers they had. She managed by yelling and belittling workers. I could not stay in that environment.

Most will tell you couple weeks however it could take months.
Job interview then you get a call after a week for another interview with department manager.
After interview with dp you might wait couple days and be called in for a background check
That background check takes couple business days or about a week
Finally after that you have orientation then they tell you to wait to be scheduled within the next two weeks.
-It will most likely take months if you miss any phone calls during this process or if the recruiter is part- time.

I work for an independent franchise of Loblaws ( Valumart ). I've been with the company for 7 and a half years and receive nothing in the way of benefits. Not even a Christmas bonus and I'm a department manager. Loblaws should investigate what happens in their smaller stores.

They gave us a hiring package, showed us a video on safety in the workplace but left the room for almost 15-20mins and then came back ask 2 or 3 questions and then we were hired. Terrible process and barely and training as well.
