Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. This role is vital in supporting pharmacists and ensuring smooth pharmacy operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in patient care, medical terminology, and medication management. Prior experience in hospital or pharmacy settings is highly valued, along with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. The Pharmacy Assistant will work closely with healthcare professionals to provide exceptional service and support to patients.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists with preparing and dispensing medications accurately and efficiently
  • Manage inventory, including restocking shelves and verifying medication supplies
  • Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and offering guidance under supervision
  • Maintain accurate records of prescriptions and medication transactions
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards
  • Help process insurance claims and billing as needed
  • Support the pharmacy team with administrative tasks such as data entry and filing
  • Communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and team members to facilitate smooth operations

Experience

  • Previous hospital or pharmacy technician experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration processes is a plus
  • Experience in patient care environments demonstrates strong communication skills and compassion
  • Familiarity with pharmacy software systems is advantageous
  • Prior exposure to medication management enhances efficiency in this role
