Full job description

Experienced Caregiver / Home Support Worker – MorinvilleJoin a Team That Values Great Caregivers

Faith & Serenity Care Group is a locally owned, faith-based home care agency providing compassionate, non-clinical support that helps adults remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their own homes.

Our organization is inspired by Christian values of compassion, dignity, service, integrity, and treating every person with kindness and respect. We welcome caregivers from all backgrounds who share our commitment to providing exceptional, person-centred care in a professional and respectful environment.

As our agency continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced, dependable caregiver to support an established client in Morinville, Alberta.

This is a consistent weekday home-care assignment supporting an adult client with mobility limitations following a stroke. The successful caregiver must be confident providing hands-on personal care, mobility assistance, transfers, and activities of daily living while working independently in the client's home.

This is not an entry-level caregiving position. We are looking for someone who has demonstrated hands-on caregiving experience, takes pride in providing respectful and person-centred care, and understands how important consistency, punctuality, and reliability are to a client who depends on scheduled support.

About the Client Assignment

The primary assignment is with an established adult client living in Morinville who requires ongoing assistance with mobility and activities of daily living following a stroke.

The client participates in his care and mobility routines but requires a caregiver who is comfortable providing physically active, hands-on assistance throughout the visit.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Personal care and hygiene assistance
  • Toileting and continence support
  • Dressing assistance
  • Standing and pivot transfers
  • Wheelchair-to-chair transfers
  • Walker assistance
  • Mobility support and walking routines
  • Assistance with established daily mobility routines and exercises
  • Meal preparation and meal support
  • Safety supervision and fall prevention
  • Companionship and emotional support
  • Light housekeeping related to the client's immediate care needs
  • Following the client's individualized care plan
  • Accurately documenting care provided
  • Promptly communicating changes or concerns to the care coordination team

The caregiver must be comfortable working independently in a private-home environment while following established care routines and agency procedures.

Schedule

This position provides a consistent weekday assignment with an established client in Morinville.

The client currently receives approximately 120 hours of caregiver support per month.

Typical scheduling includes:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Approximately 6–7 hours per scheduled day
  • Daytime weekday availability is required
  • Start and end times may vary based on the client's care needs and scheduled activities

The client's schedule is not identical every day. On some days, hours may be adjusted to accommodate medical appointments, scheduled activities, changes in the client's routine, or other care-related needs.

Applicants should therefore have reasonable flexibility within weekday daytime hours while being able to consistently commit to the client's recurring Monday-to-Friday schedule.

The approximately 120 monthly hours are allocated according to the client's care requirements, and weekly hours may fluctuate depending on how those hours are scheduled throughout the month.

This position is best suited for someone seeking a stable, recurring weekday client assignment who understands that home-care schedules may occasionally require reasonable adjustments based on the client's needs.

As Faith & Serenity Care Group continues to grow, opportunities for additional client assignments or hours may become available based on caregiver availability, demonstrated performance, and operational needs. However, applicants should apply based on their ability to consistently fulfill the Morinville assignment itself.

Reliability & Scheduling Expectations

Continuity of care is extremely important for this client. Once a caregiver accepts the recurring assignment, we expect them to maintain consistent availability and make the client's established schedule a reliable commitment.

Caregivers are expected to:

  • Arrive on time and ready to begin care at the scheduled start time
  • Remain for the full scheduled visit unless a schedule change has been approved
  • Maintain reasonable weekday flexibility when the client's schedule changes due to medical appointments or care needs
  • Communicate promptly if an unforeseen emergency may affect attendance
  • Maintain accurate arrival and departure records
  • Avoid recurring personal or employment commitments that conflict with the accepted client schedule
  • Follow all agency scheduling and communication procedures

Because this client relies on consistent support, dependability and schedule commitment are essential requirements of the position.

Please Do Not Apply If...

This position is not the right fit if you:

  • Are seeking companion-only or light-duty caregiving work
  • Are seeking an entry-level caregiving position without previous hands-on experience
  • Are uncomfortable providing personal care, including toileting, dressing, and hygiene assistance
  • Do not have experience supporting adults with significant mobility limitations
  • Are uncomfortable performing standing and pivot transfers
  • Cannot safely meet the physical requirements of the position
  • Do not have access to a reliable, insured personal vehicle for every scheduled shift
  • Are uncomfortable commuting to Morinville throughout the year, including during Alberta winter conditions
  • Cannot consistently commit to weekday daytime shifts
  • Have recurring commitments that would regularly interfere with the established schedule
  • Have difficulty maintaining punctuality or reliable attendance
  • Are unable to work independently in a private-home environment

Ready to Join Our Team?

Please submit:

  • Your current résumé
  • Your Monday-to-Friday daytime availability

  • Personal care
  • Toileting and hygiene support
  • Standing and pivot transfers
