What will your typical day look like?

In this role, a typical day will involve you providing professional services to our esteemed patients, supporting the doctors, and ensuring a smooth operational flow.

Specifically this will involve:

  • Front desk administration, answering telephones (multi-phone systems)
  • Complete patient call-backs / reminder calls, and booking appointments
  • Billing and collecting payments using the Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Referrals management
  • Rooming patients, and assisting the doctors (chaperoning if/when required)
  • Manage doctors’ schedules
  • Stock taking and ordering
  • Equipment autoclaving and sterilization
  • Administrative support to the clinical staff and management, and will play a key role in the organization and flow of clinic operations.

About the team

We are a multidisciplinary family practice in Calgary, seeking a Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our team in providing professional services to our patients. This is a full time position, and candidate will benefit from subject matter expertise, hands-on training, mentorship, and career growth and development.

You are someone with:

  • A passion for healthcare service delivery
  • The ability to deliver exceptional customer service
  • A diploma in Medical Office Assistant, Unit Clerk, or similar is degree
  • A valid Standard First Aid & CPR (Level C)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of medical office related experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, and experience using Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Ability to work independently and within a team, and effectively managing own time
  • Ability to take direction, take initiative, and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Very good organizational, time management, and communication (verbal, written, and listening) skills
  • The willingness to learn
