Wellington Hotel Restaurant
Location: Wellington, Prince Edward County, Ontario

About Us

The Wellington Hotel is opening a new restaurant focused on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and warm, genuine hospitality. Our menu celebrates Prince Edward County while drawing inspiration from great food traditions around the world.

We're building a kitchen culture founded on kindness, respect, professionalism, and continuous learning. We're looking for a Pastry Chef to lead our pastry and dessert program while also overseeing our hotel breakfast program.

The Role

As our Pastry Chef, you'll lead the bread, pastry, dessert, and breakfast programs, working closely with the Executive Chef to create thoughtful, seasonal offerings while maintaining exceptional quality and consistency every day.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead and manage the restaurant's pastry, bread, and dessert program.

· Prepare fresh breads, pastries, desserts, and baked goods daily.

· Lead and execute the hotel's breakfast program, including egg cookery, breakfast proteins, house-made baked goods, and à la carte breakfast items.

· Develop seasonal desserts and breakfast features showcasing local ingredients.

· Maintain recipe consistency, production schedules, and presentation standards.

· Manage pastry ordering, inventory, food costs, and waste.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient pastry kitchen.

· Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu development and special events.

· Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and workplace standards are consistently met.

· Mentor junior cooks and help foster a positive, respectful kitchen culture.

What We're Looking For

· Professional pastry experience in a restaurant, bakery, hotel, or similar environment.

· Strong bread-making skills; laminated pastry experience is an asset.

· Experience with breakfast service and egg cookery.

· Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

· Passion for seasonal cooking and local ingredients.

· Food Handler Certification is an asset.

· Positive attitude with a collaborative, team-first mindset.

· Flexible availability, including mornings, weekends, and holidays.
