Job Overview

We are seeking a hard working, dynamic and organized Medical Office Assistant/Receptionist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be the friendly first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience from the moment they walk through the door. Your energetic approach will help manage front desk operations, coordinate appointments, and support clinical staff with administrative tasks. Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, creating a positive first impression of the practice
  • Answer multi-line phone systems promptly, directing calls efficiently to appropriate staff members
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments using electronic medical records systems such as Epic or Dentrix
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes accurately while collecting necessary documentation and insurance information
  • Maintain organized medical records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy regulations
  • Assist clinical staff with administrative duties, including preparing charts and updating patient information
  • Handle billing inquiries and process payments securely at the front desk
  • Support office operations by managing supplies, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring a professional environment

Experience

  • Prior experience working as a dental receptionist or in a medical office setting is highly preferred
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records systems such as Accuro very helpful
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology to accurately communicate with patients and staff
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-line phone systems is helpful
  • Previous dental office experience is advantageous but not mandatory; relevant office experience in healthcare settings is valued
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and appointment scheduling
  • Ability to handle sensitive information discreetly while providing exceptional customer service
