About Us

  • Our team includes 15 Physicians, 2 Licensed Practical Nurses, 1 Registered Nurse, and 14 Medical Office Assistants. For more information about Gateway Healthcare go to www.gatewayhealth.ca.

MOA Responsibilities

  • Book appointments, check patients in and out, and manage scheduling
  • Operate a multi-line switchboard
  • Manage incoming and outgoing faxes and emails
  • Processes payments for uninsured services
  • Other MOA duties. The successful candidate will be cross trained to work all areas of the office, including front reception and switchboard, as needed

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Excellent communication, multi-tasking, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency of applicable computer software (Profile EMR and Microsoft Office preferred)
  • Minimum typing speed of 40+ words per minute
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills (English required)
  • Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Understanding of discretion and confidentiality
  • Demonstrated reliability and confidentiality
  • Compassionate, respectful, caring, and enthusiastic demeanor

Education and Experience

  • Medical Office Assistant Diploma (or equivalent) - Preferred
  • 2+ years of recent experience, education, or training - Preferred
  • Criminal Records Check may be requested

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
