Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional administrative support in a fast-paced medical or dental office setting. This role involves managing patient interactions, maintaining electronic medical records, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Candidates with prior experience in medical or dental offices, especially with electronic health record systems, are highly preferred. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to quality patient care while developing professional skills in healthcare administration.

Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors professionally at the front desk, ensuring a welcoming environment
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow efficiently using electronic scheduling systems
  • Answer multi-line phone systems promptly and professionally, directing calls as needed
  • Verify patient information and update electronic medical records accurately using platforms such as Epic and Dentrix
  • Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes, including collecting insurance information and payments
  • Prepare and organize medical or dental charts, forms, and documentation for provider review
  • Manage correspondence, including emails and fax communications, related to patient care and administrative tasks
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front office area to ensure a professional appearance
  • Support other administrative duties as assigned to facilitate clinic operations

Skills

  • Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as Epic or Dentrix is highly desirable
  • Strong knowledge of Medical Terminology relevant to clinical documentation and communication
  • Previous experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a Dental Office setting is a plus
  • Demonstrated office experience with familiarity in front desk operations and administrative procedures
  • Ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently while maintaining professionalism
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate record keeping
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, staff, and providers
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a busy healthcare environment while maintaining a positive attitude

Pay: $20.00-$26.00 per hour
