Now Hiring: Registered Clinical Counsellor, Registered Social Worker, or Registered Psychologist

Independent Contractor Hybrid In-Person & Virtual Vancouver, BC

Your unique skills deserve a unique workplace.

Providence Therapy Inc. is a leading trauma-focused clinical counselling group practice in the heart of Vancouver's Fairview neighbourhood. We are a collaborative, forward-thinking team of regulated clinicians united by a genuine passion for depth-oriented, experiential trauma therapy - and we're growing.

We are currently seeking experienced Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC), Registered Social Workers (RSW), and Registered Psychologists (R.Psych) with formal, in-depth training in trauma-focused approaches to join our team as independent contractors. At this time, we are particularly interested in candidates with formal training and significant clinical experience in couples therapy and/or DBT, in addition to their core trauma-focused competencies.

If you are a driven, growth-oriented clinician who thrives in a collaborative team culture and is deeply committed to the art and science of trauma therapy, we would love to meet you.

Why Join Providence Therapy?

At Providence Therapy, we genuinely invest in our clinicians. You will join a team of innovative, growth-minded professionals who love what they do - and who show up for one another. Here is what you can expect as part of our team:

  • Brand new, beautifully designed clinical space: As of June 2026, we are proud to be settled into our stunning new home in Vancouver's Fairview neighbourhood. Our space was thoughtfully designed from the ground up to be warm, inviting, and inspiring - featuring fully furnished private offices, dedicated space for group therapy sessions, a room equipped for somatic therapeutic work, space for in-house training and professional development, expressive arts therapy rooms, a welcoming client waiting area, and a fully stocked kitchen with complimentary beverages for you and your clients (lattes, espresso, tea, and more). This is a space you'll genuinely love coming to work in.
  • Specialty technology access: Neurotherapy devices, LENS neurofeedback, Brain Bar services, VR equipment, HRV biofeedback, photobiomodulation treatments, and other adjunct tools to support and expand your therapeutic work. Please note that access to specialty devices is contingent on holding relevant formal training in the applicable modality.
  • Professional development & training: Ongoing mentorship opportunities, monthly group consultations, one-on-one consultations as needed, and formal OEI and EMDR consultation hours with certified consultants and trainers. Unique training opportunities and access to educational resources are built into our culture.
  • Client referrals & marketing support: Regular, tracked client referrals with administrative management support. Access to established marketing strategies including website profiles, Google Ads, social media campaigns, blogs, video podcasts, headshots, and branded photography.
  • Administrative & reception support: Comprehensive administrative support to take the weight of the day-to-day details off your plate — so you can stay focused on what matters most: your clients. This includes efficient reception services, privacy-compliant practice management through Jane App (scheduling, charting, payment tracking), and streamlined clinic processes designed to remove the guesswork from running a caseload.
  • Professional resources: Professional headshots, QR-based digital business cards, and a company email address.
  • Competitive compensation: Split-fee compensation structure, referral bonuses, and pathways for career growth within the practice.
  • Extended medical & dental benefits: Comprehensive benefits package available.
  • Flexible scheduling: Options for days, evenings, and weekends. Hybrid in-person and virtual model to fit your lifestyle.
  • Team culture & community: Regular team-building activities, an annual retreat, social functions, and a team that genuinely enjoys working together. Therapeutic pets welcome - including the option to bring your own well-tempered dog to work.

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking skilled, values-aligned clinicians who are passionate about trauma-focused care and excited to be part of a collaborative, innovative team. Our ideal candidate brings depth of training, clinical curiosity, and a genuine investment in both their clients and their own professional growth. Above all, we are looking for true team players - people who genuinely want to connect with their colleagues, learn from one another, share knowledge and passion, and show up as part of a community that operates from a shared value system. If you care as much about the team you work within as the work itself, you'll fit right in here.

At this time, we are prioritizing candidates who bring:

  • A minimum of 2 years of post-graduate clinical experience working in depth with trauma populations
  • Formal training in at least one psychologically-based experiential trauma-focused modality (e.g., EMDR, OEI, DBR, IFS, AEDP, Somatic Therapy, Art Therapy, or comparable association-recognized approaches)
  • A minimum of 1 year of applied clinical experience using their formal trauma-focused training directly with clients
  • Formal training and significant clinical experience in couples therapy (e.g., Gottman Method, EFT, or comparable modalities)
  • Training and/or significant clinical experience in DBT strategies and skills-based approaches

We are also excited to connect with candidates who bring training or experience in:

  • Neurofeedback (LENS or other models)
  • Sex therapy
  • Grief and Loss
  • Abuse Counselling
  • Chronic Health Conditions
  • Dissociation and structural dissociation frameworks
  • Mindfulness-based modalities
  • Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT - individual)

Required Qualifications

  • Current professional registration in BC: Active registration with BCACC (RCC), BCCSW (RSW), CPBC (R.Psych), or an equivalent BC-recognized regulatory body. Registration must be in good standing and eligible for third-party billing where applicable.
  • Master's degree or higher: In clinical counselling, counselling psychology, social work, psychology, or a closely related field.
  • Formal, association-approved trauma training: Training must meet a professional standard - including live/interactive components, supervised practice, and competency evaluation (not solely self-directed or pre-recorded). Membership with a relevant professional organization may be required.
  • Professional liability insurance: Contractors are required to hold and maintain their own current professional liability insurance.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada: Applicants must reside in BC (or within commuting distance of Vancouver) and hold legal authorization to work in Canada at the time of hire. We are unable to offer immigration sponsorship.
  • Minimum caseload commitment: Ability to commit to a minimum of 15 client-facing hours per week.
  • Comfort with an independent contractor model: Candidates should have experience working within, or be comfortable operating under, an independent contractor arrangement - including responsibility for their own invoicing, taxes, and benefits.
  • Criminal record check: A criminal record check, including a vulnerable sector check, is a condition of hire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently provide comprehensive, trauma-informed clinical services, including assessment, treatment planning, therapy, progress evaluation, and discharge for referred clients
  • Maintain complete, timely, and accurate clinical documentation and records
  • Participate actively in group and individual professional consultation
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and training
  • Collaborate within the team while maintaining clinical autonomy and professional accountability
  • Support clients in working toward their treatment goals with care, competency, and ethical integrity

Our Values

Everything we do at Providence Therapy is rooted in our core values:

Curiosity Collaboration Kindness Generosity Respect Diversity Competency

We are building a workplace where clinicians are inspired, supported, and genuinely proud to belong. Our team fosters a culture of learning, play, and mutual care — because we believe that a thriving team creates thriving clients.

How to Apply

If this opportunity resonates with you, we'd love to hear from you. Please submit your cover letter and résumé via Indeed or email them directly to our team. We also welcome a short video introduction to learn more about your unique style.

Successful applicants will be invited to complete our clinician pre-screening questionnaire as the next step in the process.

We look forward to connecting with you.

Providence Therapy Inc. is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all staff.
